Well I am not saying emule is bad believe it or not emule is very effective when it comes to spreading chunks for 2g file swarming network compared to 3g file swarming networks like torrent. eMule is just one of many clients that uses ED2K and happens to me the major client now with majority of the users over 4+ million users.Quote:

eMule is perfect to find rare and old stuff, but it takes around a week to download something because it barely connects to any peers, and people cap their upload speed... Good luck if you download at more than 25k/s for more than an hour! And thats if you stay connected to a peer for longer than an hour!
I found out that if you don't cap your upload speed, you get connected faster and get better download speeds... It may be some kind of policy?

I don't use it anymore, but emule is great simply for the amount of files they have.
I love eMule. Even it may take a month to download a file, there are many things you cannot find elsewhere.
eMule only good for rare things that nobody download.

had to text twice to some dumb over priced number just to get a code when I was looking for some old TV stuff ...
and they never had it.
Little while later I found it on another tracker which didn't require registration or anything!
emule's also good for music in languages other than english.....typical trackers don't have them.

i really love emule because i have found lot of things (rare ones) which i couldn't find anywhere on other P2P.
In one reason , eMule big piece of sh*t(too slow start to download) , but at other hand , i like it found some great things which I think i'll never found on net !
i dont like emule :) i just use torrents
I love eMule too, I think it's better than Bittorrent. Just put multiple files with many sources and the mule flies, and of course, it has a own internal serch engine with millions of files and it's open source. :P
Emule is awesome. yes, it cant compete with the speeds, but it has everything bittorrent sites have, plus more. And theres sites that have verified ed2k links that links you with the files on the network, kind of like torrent site do. sharethefiles.com is one of the best ones.

I'll be honest I've sat on emule for hours and then days waiting on a download to start that never did, and after playing with it year after year as the new releases came out, I just gave up on it, because 90% of the time I could never get anything to download.

I don't have that experience with eMule. All the albums I couldn't find on torrent sites I could on eMule. And only one time a download didn't have enough sources to complete it. For all the rare stuff I use emule.Quote:

Emule is only good for really old hard to find files & asian stuff. In fact, I've managed to grab some old tv shows not available on neither BT/rapidshare. Emule does not suck, it's just past its time of glory. Back in kazaa days, Edonkey was way superior to kazaa in every way and now everyone had moved on to BT. But in few years, it'll probably be something new, and the same people will say BT sucks..
It is time to move on to new, better things.
Nah, I think I'll still keep using Emule.
Used to use the original Morpheus then KazaaLite then Overnet,
my current version is Emule Xtreme 6.1, works fine for me.
By using verified hashes via FTI, ShareTheFiles, PornLinkPro & the internal "search" I can find EVERYTHING new, old & RARE that I want.
Since I live in Aussie can only afford 512Broadband 20GB per month.
With my slooow Emule I can download 1.5Gb per 24hrs so my 20GB only lasts about 10 days.
I guess I could use a "Torrent" program & use my limit in 7 days though.
Emule is slow on NEW very popular movies & games as you start at the bottom of a very looong queue, but over time it speeds up.
With "normal" files 30-40KB/S is normal for most.
