Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
We also have a TTL (42 days) on torrents, which means once the TTL expires the torrent is removed from the tracker.
Only the pack uploads (Movies/Tv/Games/Music) don't have a TTL, the packs will stay on the site for as long as they have seeders (and will be Free Leech at all times).

Why can't I see the confirmation code? I ant to sign up:(
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
Ah! The sign-up process... took me a good 10 times to sigh-up when I tried...
I think the message that they try to pass with this sing-up process is...
The harder the effort to get something... the more you'll enjoy it later
They are very spiritual people :P

Probably because the site is now full for the moment, we hit the 52,000 mark about an hour ago.
You can either keep trying to get in as and when accounts are pruned or wait a little while until the limit is raised again.
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
but I couldn't see it earlier too
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
Well it's certainly showing ok, just type in the code (written in blue) and it will either then take you to the signup page or inform you if the limit is currently reached.

Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
I recently joined the site, and I love it! I remember trying a year or so to get one, with no luck, but it was surprisingly easy this time around. As soon as I clicked sign up, there was a space available. I guess I was just lucky with my timing. Make sure you click on the FAQ and the other link, and do the password exactly as they say, and you'll be fine.

Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
I've got the message "enable refferers in your firewall or browser to see the confirmation code"

Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
2-3 years ago , there was TiT , TB and Filelist which were the best 3 sites . TiT and TB had great communities while FL was like a ScT , having lots of contents . after 3 years , we see TB having a amazingly strong comeback , FL unfortunately doesnt have its previous charm at all . just hope TiT comes back . TiT was da community !
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
FL is still good , just that it does not have fast pretimes . speed is excellent and is easy to seedback as well . but this thread is about TB and let's not deviate from that. lets keep the discussion confined to ' the site of the moment ' that is TB . incidentally , for all the people with average to slow uploads...... now is the time to build up a buffer at TB .

Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
The user limit has been raised again and is now at 53,000 (941 slots stil available).
@bid888 if your using Firefox you enable referers like this:
In the address bar, Type 'about:config' in the url address bar.
A whole pile of information will appear in the browser window. (It's an alphabetical list).
Look for 'network.http.sendRefererHeader'
By default, this should be set at 2
If it is set to 0 - which disables sending referrers - right click it, select 'Modify' and enter 2 as the value.
For other browsers you'll have to google it as i don't use them.

Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
Hmm.. I used to be registered there and do sort of miss them. Glad to here they're still going strong.
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
For those interested the user limit has been raised to 54,000 (462 free slots still available)
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
freeleech for that long is quite impressive.
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
TB is an amazing site and im glad this freeleech period has brought it into the limelight again. they always have a great collection of packs which is freeleech. probably not many people notice such trackers because they are too busy chasing high level trackers. i think TB is a perfect example that you dont have to be a high level tracker to be a great tracker.

Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
i just joined and i'm loving it
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
User limit raised again, now set at 55k (609 slots stillavailable)

Sorry to hear that but I am not on staff on TBy so I don't have and answer to your question.
But hey I wish you the best of luck in getting an account since its sad that a few bad apples could make the whole tree rotten and because of this a possible good member has to suffer.

Re: Respect to TorrentBytes

Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
I Think it's wrong blocking ip:s just because they come from a country where there are many cheaters, traders and so on. I mean there are good people therefrom too
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
Shame on anyone for blocking an entire country.
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
The reason for the block wasn't just that there were several cheaters.
It was a combination of several things, the main one being account hijacking/hacking.
There was at one point 100's of accounts being hijacked per day.
Now whilst banning an entire nation was regrettable, as staff our first concern will always be to our current active members (not those who don't yet have an account) and we will do everything we can to ensure that their accounts are safe from being hijacked.
Cheaters we can handle easily with cheat detection scripts, but when your having to sort through 100's of stolen accounts and return them to their rightfull owners it leaves no other time to spend improving the site.
And as regrettable as it was to block certain isreali ranges (and not all are blocked) i can honestly say that i personally have not had a single hacked account to deal with in the past 10 months.
Everything can and will be reviewed, but if we feel the threat to our current users remains then we won't change anything.
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
It's not the first tracker that bans Israel, you know? Maybe you should think about that and you'll find out that the country is FULL OF CHEATERS/HIJACKERS/ETC., not saying there aren't good people in there but still..
-
Re: Respect to TorrentBytes
What a nonsense...
100 accounts hijacked per day and after you blocked Israeli ip's *poof*, no more hijacked accounts for 10 months?
Let me guess that you need hacking skills to hijack an account (how else? guess passwords? and I don't think you can "scam" in order to hijack an account) so you really think that hackers or w/e won't be able to get into torrentbytes because your simple ip range block?
Come on...
