Actus Reas (guilty act) is masculine.
So to think is feminine, to act is masculine.
Discuss.....

Shhhh! - don't tell... I think they're <s>copywrighted</s> copywritten.
Anyway Hypno
Why would you be proud to be straight, or gay, or black, or white, or tall or short.
These are things which you are. It is the way you are made.
People should be proud of what they achieve, not what was given to them.
Other than the fact that I am proud of how much children are turning out and the sort of people they are becoming - good chaps.
My proudest personal achievement is giving up smoking after 20 years. I decided I wanted to dance at my daughters wedding. As she was less than one at the time (five now) I couldn't guarantee being there, never mind dance.
Went with her to the chemist, bought some nicotine chewing gum. Never looked back.
that takes some will power jp!
well done!
/me gives you a round of applause.
i'd love to give up but i keep making excuses why i should carry on.
think i just need a good scare to stop me, nothing else seems to work. :(
Well done m8 :) Very good point :) I wish I had never started (at 11y/o, now 26) but I can't give up :( It's not a matter of will power with me, but If I'm gonna do something it has to be cos I want to.......Not cos I think I ought to :)Quote:

It's a law thing. Most criminal offences (other than absolute offences) require guilty knowledge.
That does not mean that the person believes the thing should be illegal, or have made some moral judgement and believe it is wrong
It means that they know it is an offence (against the law). So you have Actus Reus and Mens Rea. The person did something that was illegal and they knew that it was illegal.
Absolute offences do not require Mens Rea, if you do them it is an offence, whether you knew it or not. e.g in Scotland reset (dealing in stolen goods) is an absolute offence.
Is that too much information ?
Boo! :DQuote:

A flasher exposed himself to three gray-haired old ladies in the park.
The first old lady had a stroke.
The second had a stroke as well.
The third just gave it a squeeze though.

You need to find a reason to give up, which is more important than keeping doing it. I found mine. She is 5 now.
Very few people thought I could do it. Ironically I didn't find it as difficult as I thought it would be. I only tried once, the trick is to stay away from situations where you would need to smoke. If you are in them, to have friends who know you well.
When I drink I want to smoke. My friends know this and will not give me a cigarette under any circumstances. It wouldn't be the first time I had to make a few apologies the next day.
When sober it doesn't bother me. I can sit with the same people all day, while they are smoking. No prob.

I am the least sensitive person in the world. I never realised we were anything other than that.
My apologies, I didn't realise there was a percieved friction.
i would like to go to a hypnotherapist to stop smoking.
ive been doing it for almost 12 years, and just wanna give up. but like jp says, when you drink you want to smoke. and i like my drink a lot. :)
