winamp all the way for me
I need comprehensive video ipod support in my media player so I use winamp + ml_ipod plugin. I've heard foobar has an ipod plugin but its not as regularly updated...
Foobar for flac purposes, but Winamp all around.
Foobar for the awesome skins out there, Winamp for simplicity and user friendliness...
i dont think you can even compare foobar and winamp. foobar is in a league of its own!

i like winamp but the new version is driving me crazy! its really bloated. does any1 remember what the last version was before it kept trying to force you to update? maybe ill go back to that.

I used to use winamp, but now I'm with the latest MS Media Player :P

Both are not as good as XMPlay. It is smaller than both,better sound reproduction than both and is the only free player to have the WASAPI output plugin => The OS (Win Vista)does not oversample the source. Bit perfect
winamp was heavyt so i switched to foobar that is so lightweight!!

The people saying winamp opens to slow must be doing something wrong because mine opens in jus over a second with about 5 plugins.
Who couldn't love a media player that looks like this.

Foobar. The fact that you can change anything about it to the way you want it makes it the best one out there.

I've used Winamp since 2.81 and have never found a player to replace it. The new winamp (v 5) comes with the Single UI skin Bento which is pretty slick. Also love the tons of plug-ins available.
I do like foobar (once you spend hours setting it up) but it is still too much of a hassle. I'm hoping songbird continues to improve because I'm sick of winamp!
