damn scammers.
goodluck.
Very useful information!
It helped me a lot.
I dont think seedhost.eu are scammers.
It is said here that one of the advantages of using a seedbox is to get your home IP out of the swarm. But if you use a seedbox then your seedbox IP will in the swarm and that has your name on it right? So wont it be just as easy to track you down wether you use home connection or seedbox?
Hi there,

Hi there,
I'm new to seedbox and plan to get a Windows Server to setup my seedbox because I don't know anything about Linux.
May I know how can I setup the utorrent in the box? Is it downlaod the client from utorrent web site and upload it to the server via FTP?
Thanks
If i can give u an advice. Even if u dont know Linux, choose it.
U can easily follow this guide ( or part of it ) and have a great server running 24/7.
I say that because i have 2 servers... one win2003 and one linux.
The win2003 crashes due to memory and harddrive use sometimes.
The linux one is smooth since the day it was born :01:

Like many, I'm a newbie on this site & wit seedboxes, so bare wit me on my question{s}.
I'm looking into getting my first one, but still a bit confussed on some stuff.
So, here I go.
1st - Is this a good one to get?
VPS Raptor 4+
VPS / VDS Processor: 2 x 2.66 GHz
Memory: 1 GB RAM
200 GB Webspace
Unlimited Traffic
Full Access
1Gbit (Master Server)
4 IP-Adresse
Custom NS Servers
Reverse DND for each IP
Unlimited Subdomains
Unlimited MySQL-Databases
cPanel/WHM (optional)
Plesk (optional)
Linux or Windows FREE
Win Server 2003 Free
Remote reboot panel
1 Gbit Uplink
New installation Web interface
Mulilingual interface
Basic Resselers Panel
2st - Do I need a domain name?
3rd - Do I need to have Windows Server or Linux as my os, or do I choose one of them to be put into my box?
Meaning, do I need to reformat my computer I'm using now to have one of the above OS, or is the OS just for the seedbox?
4th 0 Do I need Control Panel, KVM (Extra port to manage server), Plesk, cPanel (Unlimited) etc....?
Thnx in adance for any info/help.
Hi, I'm newbie in this, so:
Which VPS or Seedbox hosting you can suggest me that support rar/unrar function?
- How would I install the utorrent webui?
I'm wondering. what is the benefit of having more than one IP on dedicated server?
OVH Best Seedbox
What would be the easiest/best way to transfer files between two seedboxes?
Planning on switching from LW and can't really think of an easy way.
Nice Guide! Thanks!
great guide! thanks!
I'm looking for some help using truecrypt on windows server 2003, which has the hard drive partitioned into 3 drives, which i access remotely.
Thanks !
can someone give me a detailed explanation of what a rps server is and how the hard drive space works its a bit confusing.
I have some doubts about seedboxes and RPS. I just started to read about these services and I like to know a couple of things about these services.
Which seedbox servers are available for Portugal residents?
What's the diference between the seedboxes and the RPS?
I would appreciate the help...
Seems like Google is new to some people?
Anyhow, the usual RPS machine is just a small server but usually with an inferior CPU and not too many RAM onboard. Also, there are no disks present but most of the times you're using an iSCSI-connection to a SAN. Still, the server is usually yours for the taking (as in, not shared) but the HDD-space is mostly limited.
I might tread on some people's toes but a RPS can be a seedbox as well. So, there is no difference except that the usual "seedbox" is either a much more sturdy server with higher specs which can be rented for your own use or shared.
And to cut it short; if you're not gonna create torrents on your seedbox, happy to pay bigger bucks for more storage-space on a SAN, a RPS will do just as well as a shared/dedicated server elsewhere.
I asked here because I didn't find an easy explanation on Google. Thanks, m8...

Is the port 6884 open?
Yes, it is. Already checked, it's kind of strange because it was working fine...
Right on ;) Awesome guide, appreciate the time put into this...
Traffic: unlimited or 1/2 etc TB
Does it really matter to a person like me who just uses it for normal use?
Dunno man; depending on the tracker and the kind of things you download/seed. I just did 230GB upload yesterday and that was "just" on a 1.3GB release on a 8000-member private tracker.
But think about it; if 30GB/day is your kinda bandwidth, you should easily manage with a 2TB-limit/month.
very helpful guide :)
hi nice guide.....
can anyone tell me whether i can use this FTP access to remote upload files from my seed box to rapidshare or megaupload....megaupload probably becasuse i have pro account there.........
Good info.
Have got a seedbox and it's quite helpful to me.
