STFU.
Apart from the second series which was shit.
Obligatory list of British comedy I like:
Black Books
The IT Crowd
Green Wing (1st series)
Mighty Boosh
Snuff Box
Darkplace
Man to Man with Dean Learner
Monkey Dust
Spaced
Nighty Night
Alan Partridge
. . . and some others I forget.
Spaced was funny and Black Books is orsum.
Welsh people are very fond of "Gavin and Stacey", and I'll agree that it is quite amusing.
New series starts on sunday
I've never heard of a lot of them - I'd be tempted to download some except that The Mighty Boosh is on your good list when it's blatantly shite.
Noel Fielding's cameos on other shows promised me so much yet he delivered so little
Altho' I think I've seen Darkplace mentioned as being goodly a few times.
Darkplace has Moss from IT Crowd (and who cameos in Mighty Boosh) in it as well as the guy who takes over the company in the second series, Matt Berry. Man to Man with Dean Learner is a spin-off of Darkplace.
Snuff Box is Matt Berry again, alongside Rich Fulcher (both were also in Mighty Boosh).
Nighty Night is a dark comedy with the other one from Mighty Boosh, Julian Barrat's missus in it.
All funnier than a rabbit with aids.
Mighty Boosh rawks btw.
monkey dust was quality. fact.
I'm not a big fan of Matt Berry (didn't know his name before). His way of talking in italics is kinda funny but it grates now. Moss'd make up for him tho'.
There's no torrent of Darkplace in uknova, the nzb I found is too old so I'm gonna have to get it off thebox - and my ratio sucks there :dabs:
Anything by Chris Morris is great.
TheDayToday
BrassEye
Nathan Barley
and a few more....
Thanks, Chebus> Very kind of you (and CG even tho' she won't be aware of it yet)
My subconscious hinting was more for an alternative download but this is way better. Dvds in the post >*.
I had to leave a torrent open for a couple of weeks to get Darkplace. Same thing for Snuff Box. This was last year like so I have no idea on the availability now.
Nighty Night I had wanted to watch since forever when I heard about it last month, couldn't find it anywhere and then Virgin had it on their channel what you press the red button on and choose stuff to watch.
Dr Terrible's House of Horrible was good too. I managed to get it off demonoid (in shitty rmvb format) after asking the chap to seed it again.
1) bitching about music have fuckall to do with the thread, and nor does it in anyway reinforce whatever deluded argument you have going, and you know, it's not my fault you have no taste/are an idiot, and 2) Most countries don't do subtitles or dubbing very often, and swedish isn't exactly a world language. Countries with people who can read subtitles and watch something at the same time (I'ma assume that doesn't includes loltastic jackasses like yourself), or who do dubbing (ie Germany for one) do buy some swedish programming (turns out some of it is pretty popular in germany as well, tossers though they may be, dunno and don't care about the rest of the world).
But to be absolutely fair, this thread isn't about swedish TV either, you fucking idiot. It's only you who started complaining about it, on the off-chance that some guy with a swedish flag on him might be from sweden, which normally isn't the case with flags, around here. And then you went after music. What's next?
Inbreds, lol, like I said.
Not my fault you only listen to punk. Me, I listen to lots of stuff 'cos I'm multicultural, like, and some other pretentious stuff I can't dream up right now :snooty:
Smart money says the inbred enjoys rap, and awesome awesome stuff like Metallica and/or the blackeyed peas.
Or maybe the Arctic Monkeys (the singer sounds like the, lol), lolol.
Phoenix Nights as well, people. What about Phoenix Nights.
"We're losing a fighting battle here."
i actually thought Phoenix Nights was funnier than The Office. vey much underrated in my opinion. great British comedy.
The main problem with British Comedy is that it is written in a subtle manner, and requires a level of understanding often not found in people who think a staple diet is a burger and giant coke.
British comedy is exported throughout the world and has one ingredient that most other comedies lack, and that is the absence of slapstick. Most foreign comedy relies on gags of the moment, whereas British comedy can be built up over the course of the show.
That's not to say that slapstick isn't in British comedy. The Young Ones and Bottom are excellent examples of slapstick, while shows like One Foot In The Grave, Only Fools And Horse, and The Vicar Of Dibley are shows that use integrated comedy.
Even our stand up comedians are rated some of the best in the world. Jim Davidson, Lenny Henry and Billy Connolly are three excellent stand ups that come to mind. In fact, Billy Connolly is regarded as one of the worlds greatest stand ups, who is able to turn real world simplicity into such explicit material.
Anyway, if British comedy is such crap, then why are Paramount, Universal and the other big US giants buying up the rights to distribute British comedy.
Jim Davidson?:no2:
 racists.
Davidson is a master of subtle, layered, politically astute comedy. He's a man with a finger on the pulse. For real. My favourites would probably have to be Chris Morris and Coogan. I even really liked Nathan Barley. Peep Show is quality as well i think, if very painful. Anyway Snee, if being multicultural is what makes you listen to The Longpigs (still!) then i'm going to have to familiarise myself a bit more with Davidson and probably Bernard Manning. See you've got a bit of, er, Bodyrox on there as well you chump. Bet you've got serious love for the Swedish House Mafia fromage haven't you? Not surprised you've got a beef with the Germans with all the quality dance music they're knocking out at the moment.
I quite like Longpigs .
You're right Snee, if i had have gone to a school that taught me to read your writing i wouldn't have canned all that cash on Further and Higher education and would instead be whiling away the days licking windows on public transport with your pals. We all make mistakes though don't we?
...This thread is sooooo... yesterday.

Faulty towers - Saxondale - Shameless and of course Roland Rat
