yeah a delay wouldn't necessarily make the project immune to all these problems which creep up during transition. better now than later anyway. imo though, they shoulda withheld on the ratiowatch. the clock's ticking, and users have no means of pulling up their ratio.
Personally I am happy they launched it now... I just hope the mods don't goin crazy from all of the bug reporting!
For those who asked what gazelle is, it is an entirely new source code written by the admins at what.cd. Hopefully it will become an alternative to TBsource, the horribly broken, slow, featureless source most torrent sites use :S
Gazelle is suppose to be much better than TBsource. New skin is so sick.
But are they going to make Gazelle Public and how much would they charge if any tracker decides to migrate to Gazelle?

If they have a team of dedicated coders ready to fix bugs in real time then it's a good idea to launch Gazelle. What surprises me is that they haven't set up Bugzilla for users to submit bugs.
The layout is ok but I hate not to have "browse" feature. Maybe they'll implement tag cloud later.
It's really nice. I'm very happy they got it up and going.

Tracker is online. And with the Dark stylesheet, I think it looks really nice. This is the same sheet I used on What and still use on Waffles. It makes the site sleek looking.

I like the new stylesheets (Shiro's my favorite) and site is a lot faster that before. Still a lot to work regarding some aspects of the site but overall a successful launch of Gazelle, imo. :D
What is doing a great job, its more likely a place to have some knowledge now.
filtering torrents by genre has disappear or I am not seeing it?

They need to rebuild their tracker now or at least make the stats on the site accurate.
as you can see on the news page they are actually working on a completely new back-end code aswell :).. and they are fixing the problems with the current xbtt tracker atm.Quote:

What bothers me the most about gazelle, is the fact that there are no genres in the browse category! It's impossible to find new music of your favourite genre! Tags are good, don't get me wrong, but they are subjective! For example, one guy had tagged his Santana upload as Santana music!!! WTF!
ya the lack of categories is kinda strange ... also i guess something is messed up with the upload system right now cause all day there's been a huge lag where it seems like nothing new is coming through ...
like for instance right now it says the last new thing was added 1 hour ago ?? before gazelle new stuff showed up about once a minute . .. . .
gazelle for me so far:
- demotion from poweruser to the lowest user class
- can not vote on requests anymore
- can not view the log anymore
- can not perform advanced search anymore
- can not view the top ten anymore
- can not make requests
- can not access special forums anymore.
i'm a member at what almost from day one. can somebody please tell me what my benefits from gazelle are?

As you guys say, the problems are many... As for the user classes, they have changed significantly! You have to upload your own stuff to achieve higher user classes!
Seeing as all old torrents have a tag that equals the previous category they were in, the search feature is still useable. There is great potential in tags but it will take some time until the system will become useful.
