Once again, I disagree
Brute Force's unique style of being able to command 4 marines simultaneously is pretty complex, the same with Shenmu's high level of interactivity.

The controversial franchise is on its way to Microsoft's Xbox console.
Take-Two Interactive announced today that it is currently developing Grand Theft Auto 3 for the Microsoft Xbox console. No further details have been released at this time regarding whether the game will be a port of the PlayStation 2 version or when the game is scheduled for release.
Paul Eibeler, president of Take-Two, stated, "We are very excited about the prospects for the Xbox and the opportunity to publish titles designed to demonstrate the unique features of this future-generation gaming console.''

July 15, 2003 - Sources report that Rockstar's mega-money maker Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be coming to the Xbox, possibly as soon as this holiday season.
As many insiders know, the Grand Theft Auto series is supposed to be PlayStation 2 console exclusive, however sources reveal that Rockstar is circumventing the agreement by stripping the Xbox version of the title Grand Theft Auto, and simply repackaging the game as Vice City.
Back in May, Take Two's CEO Jeffrey Lapin spoke about a major Rockstar title in development for the Xbox during the company's quarterly conference call with analysts. "We said that there will be an Xbox SKU from Rockstar in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2004 [Nov. to Jan.]," Lapin said, "but we're not going to comment on what it is at this point." It now looks like Vice City is that game.
Vice City's gameplay will be identical to the PC version that recently shipped, and might also include additional features like custom soundtracks and downloadable content.

May 29, 2003 - In Take-Two Interactive's conference call with analysts early this week the company said that its exclusivity contract with Sony Computer Entertainment America has been amended and, additionally, executives strongly hinted that a version of Grand Theft Auto may come to Xbox.
During the Q&A section of the conference call, Take-Two's Jeffrey Lapin stated that an unannounced SKU would appear on Xbox in the fourth quarter of the company's fiscal year (which, for Rockstar, is November to January). Lapin didn't confirm it was Grand Theft Auto, but he implied, according to a source who listened in on the call, that it was a Grand Theft Auto title. If rumor proves true, then a previously published version of the game, i.e. Grand Theft Auto III or Grand Theft Auto Vice City, is in the works for Xbox.
According to the conference transcript, the relevant question asked in the call was: "Is GTA for Xbox coming, and when it is coming?" Lapin's answer was: "We said that there will be an Xbox SKU from Rockstar in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2004 [Nov. to Jan.], but we're not going to comment on what it is at this point."
It is assumed by analysts that the Xbox title Lapin refers to isn't a version of Mafia or Max Payne 2, two potential games that have already been announced or hinted at.
SCEA's contract with Rockstar originally stated that all Grand Theft Auto titles would be exclusive to PlayStation 2 (with the exception of the PC) from 2001 to year's end 2004. Apparently, SCEA and Rockstar have re-negotiated the contract to permit the game to appear on other consoles. Rockstar is currently working on the next Grand Theft Auto title, due for year's end in 2004, which will, as we understand it, complete the original exclusivity contract with SCEA. (Unless that too has been renegotiated.)
A second question was asked: "Will the Sony deal allow you to ship a non-PS2 GTA product even if it's not the most current?" The answer was: "We're not going to comment on terms of the at deal although by the next conference call we'll be able to give some more color."
Take-Two is most likely to announce the full, confirmed news in its next analyst call this August. And you know we'll have more on that when it comes.

April 28, 2003 - After Rockstar Games fulfills its agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment America at year's end 2004 (with the sequel to GTA: Vice City), it will immediately publish Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on GameCube and Xbox, reports Yahoo News.
The article, which focuses on the upcoming rash of mature-rated games, thanks to the immense success of GTA III and GTA: Vice City, includes a conversation with Take-Two Chief Executive Jeffrey Lapin, and new release dates for Project Manhunt, The Warriors and Max Payne 2.
According to Yahoo News, Project Manhunt is due in October 2003, while both The Warriors and Max Payne 2 are due in 2005, the same year the next generation of systems are believed to be launched. The systems on which these games would appear was not revealed. Which leads us to believe -- speculatively, of course -- that both of those games will appear on the next generation of systems (i.e. PS3, GameCube 2, Xbox 2 and the Phantom 2, etc.).
Although we spoke with Rockstar Games officials today, the company's policy is to not comment on rumors. A source close to Rockstar Games said that the information in the article is definitely not concrete, but is possible.
"We don't really announce the Rockstar games until very close to release because we don't want anybody copying us," Lapin said in the story.
Of equal interest is that the Rockstar's potential move to put GTA III and GTA: Vice City on Nintendo's GameCube and Microsoft's Xbox. One month after Rockstar publishes the next GTA game (due in 2004) and completes its exclusivity agreement with SCEA, it will publish GTA III and GTA: Vice City on GameCube and Xbox.

xbox is the best out of all three. gc is just out of the discussion all together, and ps2, well, good and sometimes awsome games, but a lot of the good ones come out to computer, which is much better than ps2. and xbox is rated the best graphics out of all 3. so i would still say xbox, if u want to buy a game system. i'm happy with a good computer
just a few points about the xbox and ps2....
well to get started, ps2 rocks and xbox sucks....c, it even sounds right
but i have a few things for and againts each system
-xbox-
the good
NOTHING, maybe some games have good graphics but that it
the bad
basically a pc
came out in around 2001, which means it has the power of any pc then, a P3
this is microsofts first system and had no previous experience
has many glitches
controlls suck!!!!
and same for the controller
-ps2-
the good
great games as previously mentioned
exellent controlls
great graphics
awesome controls and controller
all know glitches from the first playstation were worked out
previous experience with systems
the bad
unfourtanty some developers tend to focus on gameplay most the time and forget about the graphics but not often
and the bad for both-cds scratch very easily and get destroyed AND ALL GAMES ARE MAJORLY OVERPRICED!!!!!!!
add everything up, ps2 is the bomb and xbox, well id take a chuck it into the ocean and then dive for it 2 years later and the bury it on the bottom of the sea in the magma so it burns in hell!!
well there you go
hey, xbox can beat up ur daddy. ps2 can beat up ur sister probably. he he  :P
how is it porno theres no boobies!!Quote:

Another point that I don't see when people compare the two (x-box and ps2) too a gaming pc is you can get a x-box or ps2 for $180- $300 (depending on country and deals) and a decent gaming computer that won't glich, studder,or crash would be around $1000 (now give or take on that too). Also it keeps coming up about buying games at $50 a game for consols, well get a chipped consol and the price is exactly the same as a pc game, The cost of a cd-r. Anyway I'm not getting into the points that have been disscused, PS2 ROCKS! :beerchug:
X box is great just needs better games but hey Doom III Half Life 2 and deus ex 2 are coming to X box, and you forgot to mention Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind , and Timesplitters 2! which both are my favorite games! There is no need for stupid console wars its what ever suits you best! I played both and I think they're both great! :D
im trying not to flame but lets not bash the other systems lets just debate instead of fight ok?
STOP POSTING.......
PC > PS2 > XboX
AND THATS ABOUT IT.....
Well there really is no point in fighting over which console is the better! Only reason you do it is to feel good about yourself not having spent your hard earned cash on some crap! You try to rationalize your buy.
Sometimes I wonder how old people here are, guess the average poster, in this thread atleast, is 12. I need to stop posting here hehe ;)
We care, really. :)
Ok, now I'm going to show you why Xbox is better:
Xbox:
Pros
Controls may be big, but you get used to them and when you do, they rule
Most powerful system
Has more potential then any other system
Doom 3, Half-Life 2 and Halo 2 will come out for it so you won't have to have a $1000 machine to play them.
Has more features then other consoles, the Hard-Drive, custom soundtrack, Xbox live, The skateboard controller, etc.
Might not have a lot of games now, because it hasn't been around as long as PS2, but all good PS2 games are being ported to it.
Has the best games on it with the best performance: Soul Calibur 2, Brute Force, Halo, Shenmue II etc
With a mod-chip you can watch VCD's and DVDs without the remote and you can play SNES, NES and PS1 games.
Can use a Keyboard + Mouse
Cons
Doesn't have alot of games out for it now
PS2
Pros
Popular
LOTS of games
nice, compact controllers
more portable
DVD Player
Can use a keyboard + Mouse
Cons
Weakest System
Less Potential
Less enticing future
No custom sound-tracks
all good games get ported over to Xbox with better graphics etc.
PC
Pros:
Can be the most powerful, if you have the cash
Cons:
Expensive to keep on upgrading
Have to worry about system requirements
Have to install games
Games may need patches etc
No one can say that is wrong
Xbox has proven it is the best.
I disagree with that PC shit you said.....Quote:

If you have to install games is because you get faster loading screens and about the patches....
Games needs patches beacuse they can be improved not like PS2 or Xbox...
And PC is better because of mods, Can you tell me in what console can you play GTA VC Online or can you tell where Counter Strike was made?
PC>PS2>Xbox
I still dont understand how you can put Xbox after PS2 though...
UT2003 and Splinter Cell can have patches/extra content downloaded onto them...Specifically for Xbox.
UT Championship, the Xbox version of UT2003 looks like crap and Splinter Cell's controls are so much better on PC.....
And about the Paches and download content, tell me what happens if you full the Xbox little 8Gigs HDD?
You can get up to 120G hard-drives.
Splinter Cell on Xbox got a higher rating then the PC version
Do you actually own an Xbox, or have you just played these games in a store?
^xbox looks like shit ps2 looks like a beauty
See now you're resorting to shit comebacks to kid yourself into thinking Xbox sucks. I have a japanese Xbox case, transparent graphite lucite...
THE ANSWER IS PC ROCKS!!!
I respect your opinion...But could you please say why?
The reason why pc rocks is stated various places througout this threadQuote:

I own a XboX and a Gamecube but whenever i get money i always look to buy a game for any of the three consoles but i always find myself buying PS2 games and I trade games with friends so i have tried several games, that's why i say all this and is totally stupid to get up a 120Gigs HDD for an Xbox its just waist of space...Quote:

By the way i have a 5.1 Stereo so i have to say Xbox's games sound better than PS2's but i hardly find good games for Xbox, As for PC, is the best Gaming RIG ever, it has all the features consoles have, but IMPROVED.
The only real one is that you can download patches and mods for PC
yeah right  dream on motherfuckerQuote:
