6. My friend told me all about emulators and ROM's, so I joined a forum that hosted everything on Rapidshare and Megaupload. The community wasn't too great, and to be honest, the members weren't that intelligent. I just can't really stand bad grammar on a constant basis. The speeds and having to wait for a long time in between downloads also had to go. So, I started on Pirate Bay, dl'ing all sorts of applications and games. Then I read an article on Demonoid, and started from there :)
7. Well, the whole mentality of Bittorrent communities should be sharing. And when I say sharing, I mean giving things for free. You do it because it's the right thing to do, not because you want to get something out of it.
8. Quality is much more important. I'd rather belong to a site that has only 500 torrents, all of great quality, than a site with a million torrents, full of poorly ripped movies and such.

6. I first started off downloading from KaZaA, then LimeWire and later a friend told me about Demonoid and I never looked back. The quality of 95% of the torrents are accurate and not some kind of fake exe or mp3 file that you may find on eMule or LimeWire.

6. My friend and neighbor told me about this website called "Mininova" and a program called "BitComet" that let you download programs and movies. After I really got into it, I started looking for more and better websites to continue my reign over the internet with.
7. I'm not an anti-trader and I don't hate traders, but trading is still bad. It compromises the website's security and opens the door for someone to leak their exclusive data somewhere else. It's also disrespectful to the tracker and the person who invited you.

- FSC = Wow... FSC. I've heard so much about this website from my research and speaking to members of there. The Share Index idea is great where people who's speeds aren't very fast can get a 1:1 ratio on a torrent by seeding there after a certain time. The clubs are ingenious. I would have never thought of that and they did. If I ever get in, I definitely want to be in the Culinary Club because cooking is just fun and I don't have anyone to teach me so I'll use the internet :) The TV Club as well because you can never have too many TV Shows! Also, I can download from FSC, upload at BMTV or download from BMTV and upload on FSC. It's a win:win situation. Also, as you can tell by my posting habits here, I'm really into a good community. I don't post much in my current tracker-forums because I'm hooked on FST and World of Warcraft at the moment, but I'm trying to break the habit.
- FTN = I want it the most (but I don't go around begging for it) because I hear from many friends that it's really good. I trust their word when they say it's the best and I want to experience what they experience. Also, the no-ratio concept works great in PtN, so I want to have more than one no-ratio tracker because it's great.
- iTS = This website is the 0day equivalent to PtN. Both have no ratio, both allow users to upload which in my opinion is their most valuable feature, both have some type of rewards system and both allow non-scene uploads (p2p groups are just as good, if not better, than scene groups).
**If it's ok, I'm just going to put 3 trackers because I have everything I need right now and those 3 would just be luxuries that would make my day and make life better and easier**

If I was going to trade FSC for a buffered account then why didn't I request any other trackers? Surely I would have requested various other level 9/10 trackers that I could trade away for something else, if what you say is true.
I don't have torrent "dreams". I don't make request threads everyday. I don't beg and plead for any tracker. I don't brag about my tracker membership in my sig. I'm just here to network with people.
I fully understand that it's your thread and you make the final decisions, but even so I don't think you've given my "view on torrenting" enough of a chance.
My view on torrenting is simple; you share. My view on private trackers is simple as well; you give people the opportunity to share with a whole community. The quick, rash decision you made about my "torrenting view" is very similar to the quick, rash decisions politicians and ISPs make when they fight to forbid torrenting, sharing. What would tracker communities be if all traded accounts were deleted instantly? Can you be so certain that users you've come to trust wouldn't be deleted as well?
I apologize for the long read, but I felt it necessary to share my actual torrenting views.

Im not even halfway down the posts yet lol bc im spending so much time reading through peoples history.
Maybe if you prove yourself here at fst that you arent a trader anymore...or you make friends with someone willing to risk inviting a known trader to a tracker...youll get into a community...but as long as you are a known account trader, you are pretty much on the blacklist.
I already explained the SCT threads so I don't feel I should repeat that again. I also offered logic on why I wouldn't trade FSC for anything else, so I won't repeat that as well. I simply wanted to present my true torrenting views, which I think I did..
I respect your decision and judgment, and I will (quite blindly) trust that you thought about more than simply the first negative thread you came across. I will continue to contribute positively forum, as I have been, and I will continue to "prove" myself at FST, whatever that means.

6. I suppose I started torrenting because it was a lot easier than what I was used to (NNTP, IRC). I moved into private torrent sites because I was sick of dealing with viruses and lack of quality control in public trackers
7. The problem with trading is that it breaks the chain of trust. If you take a look at this thread, people may be evaluating peoples' answers and
deciding if they might make a good member of their community. Even if it's a stranger, a little talking and some ratio proofs can give you an idea if someone will be a responsible member to invite - but if he turns around and trades that invite to someone else, then you have no idea what type of person is getting inside your tracker. Private trackers rely on the chain of trust between inviter and invitee to maintain security and build a high-quality community.
8. I think you should set high standards for quality, then try to get as much quantity as you can within those standards. I like sites that allow user uploads and rare non-scene material, provided that the members are a tight enough community that you can rely on them to maintain standards of quality.
9. A. I don't really lick tootsie pops, I put them in my mouth and swirl my tongue around them. It's a good skill to learn for when you're older.
B. I hate watching movies too many times. If I had to watch a movie over and over, I would probably want something that had beautiful music and visuals so I could just absorb the aesthetics - so maybe something like Fantasia. I wish they would update that again.
C. Call all my friends and family and tell them I love them, then ingest a large quantity of hallucinogenic compounds.

1) ScT - Supposed to be the among the best 0day trackers with rare packs and their owners/moderators seem well-regarded. Have only heard good things about this tracker.
2) FTN - Another top 0day site that seems willing to be more progressive and trust their members with things like no ratio and no h&r. I think that encourages activity, which is always a good thing in a community.
3) BitMeTV - I like high-quality archival trackers, and this seems to be tops among the TV world.
4) TranceTraffic - Well, I drove 4 hours to see Infected Mushroom's set at Vision in Chicago last night, so that should give you a good idea. I still haven't slept since then :pinch:
There are probably other good sites, but I haven't really investigated high-level sites too much, since I figured that I would never get in since I don't trade.

Sometimes, even if people break the rules, they do it for a reason. We are human beings not animals. I did some wrong things too. But i had my reasons to do it. I am not saying that peoples actions might be justified by their necessity to do things. However, they have their own reason, rather than punishing them for what they did, if you show mercy to those who havent mastered their horse as if a kind would. I belieeve they will change. Also prooving yourself in a community seems sorry but illogical why? because when you do it in a forum, you obviously do it for reputation. Up to now, i did give it to anyone who asked for it if i had it, now i am giving away on a forum because of reputation that is all. I never left TL, I was never apart of it, I've heard about how easy it is to pay to get an invite in by joining their public channel, and having pay2leech privileges.
I know it sounds suspicious but I already had an SCT account, I posted what my friend was offering for an invite since neither him nor me could afford it.

6. I started torrenting because I moved on campus (housing) and I found out that there were “e-learning” trackers that had text books and educational documentaries. By that time I was using mininova/textbooktorrents. Then one day someone told me about private porn tracker and from there I learned about keep a good ratio seeding back. Then I stated to go for trackers which interested me from HD quality films to FLAC music.
7. Trading is bad because it makes you look stupid when you see the exact same user who you traded with, trading the account you gave. I’ve seen it many times on the forums. Also by not trading it protects you from getting scammed and then crying on the forums about it.
8.Quality is more important. LCD screens and dual core’s weren’t meant to play/watch CAM films. I’d rather wait to see nice crisp quality film.
9a. It would probably take around 56 licks depending on how much tongue/saliva you get on it.

a) FTN- I've heard its scene tracker with amazingly high speeds and as a member of another no ratio site, I love the no ratio system. I’ve personally never requested an invite to FTN because I first wanted to build trust with the regulars on the forum, but since its a question id be happy to throw in a free request.:naughty:
b)FSC- I remember there was a thread that said “what torrent sites have you given up on” and I jokingly wrote FSC because it seems the site is about out of shape guys who are trying to learn to cook (Culinary sigs). Most members on FST were quick to reply what they were about and culinary was one way to develop a community within the tracker so that seemed cool. Also, their replies to my joke weren't harsh but very informative which showed that they weren't snobby users and it gave me some insight as to the character of users they have/look for.
c)ScL- I heard they have nice packs, also its secrecy is probably the main reason I’d like to join. Can someone clarify whether it’s a “flower” or “clover”?
d) SweDVDR- I love DVDs but I know they banned every IP outside of Sweden but if you can get me in I'd be happy to join.

Borat! Sacha Baron Cohen is one of the world’s greatest impersonator, totally love him. Well basically anything by him goes. Borat, Ali G, all the comedies. I’m into comedy mostly, the Scary Movie series was also one of my favourites. American Pie series was a good laugh as well. Those are some of my favourites but Borat ranks NO1 on the hierarchy. I went to the extend of downloading all Borat’s TV shows as well as the making and the deleted scenes, it was pretty awesome.

Prison Break would be my favourite. Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are brilliant actors, I think Miller rose to fame because of PB. I love the show mainly because of the storyline and most definitely the cliff hangers at the end of each episode. It’s just incredible the way the script writers manipulates the twists and turns that make you want to watch the next episode as soon as possible. I remember it was a stress-relief for me to sit in front of the monitor and watch through the new episodes. Can’t wait for it to air again in September

One of the most important events in my life so far has been moving to study aboard. The day my family migrated overseas inspired me to study hard and invest time and effort in to everything I do. My parents spend years trying to get visa approval and money on my overseas education, their hardwork is what inspire me to keep going and complete my education to the best of my abilities.

I joined the BT world many "moon" ago, quite incidental really. I used to use P2P channels such as Limewire and eMule as my main source of downloadable contents, but when security breaches of P2P networks and anti-piracy raids become phenomenal it was the way out for me. As a "retiree" it was purely accidental that I stumbled upon a private tracker called Demonoid, and it changed my vision of piracy forever. I was introduced to the world of torrents - a utopia centralised by community, speed and a new level of security (that was before it was raided, but as you all know it's back). Hence my BT experience permeated since the end of 2006 upon my discovery of private trackers.

I strongly despise them, and to manipulate tracker accounts and invites as commodities of a trading market, is totally outrageous. Like all my BT friends and families, I stand united against those who attempt to destroy the security and harmony of BT community. When an account has exchanged hands, the identity of the original user is “stolen” and it’s almost like carrying a false ID, living in the shadows and fear, knowing that this account is not really yours, and one day you find yourself disabled. The main reason why I’m against trading is that invites should be free, not treated as barter or commodities, and that account trading in particular, is like identity thief.
8. What is more important, quantity or quality?
Quality! The easiest allusion would be in essay writing, what would the markers want? A 10 page essay that elaborates way beyond what the question asks or a 2 page concise argument that hit the bulls eye?

For some of us, finding a ftn invite is almost like searching for a needle in the sea, but I think miracles will happen one day :D
I stumbled upon Demonoid a while ago due to pure coincidence, and from that day onwards, my vision for the BitTorrent world widened exponentially. There was more to torrenting then just downloading/uploading and keeping a good ratio. There's something special about it all. It involves treasuring friendships, harmony and giving something back to the community. Though not all trackers are like that, FTN is the jewel of the crown. Whatever has made FTN for what it is today (speed, content, community and what-not) is truly amazing, making it the undisputed leader of being the best BT community and tracker in the eyes of most torrenters.
What I can bring to FTN is experience but more importantly myself, my personality. Helping people in the support forum and providing a conversion service would be one thing, but for the most, I think I can make people laugh and like me. I'm on a few community trackers and have been very active there, posting, hanging out in the IRC, or just mucking around with the crowd.
If there is one thing that I can promise you, it would be that I will make you a proud inviter.
FSC
To be honest I want to join FSC with the same intention and initiative as I have written for FTN. I want to be part of the community, for real, not just be a good seeder but someone who actively participates. Someone who posts, who helps users, and most importantly, do what is best for the community. If I am invited to FSC, you would know I would be an IRC whore :D
AOM
This might come surprising but I want to join AOM. I know exactly what AOM is about - its a society built for magicians. Though an amateur, I have found myself fell in love with magic since I have joined MT 3 months ago. I was introduced to magic by a friend who is a veteran in this field, practising close to 2 years. When I joined MT for the first time I knew nothing. But the community there is great as I began to post in forums and chatting with mods in the IRC. I was even promoted to uploader magician and uploading some of my own collections to MT. It's been 3 month and now I actually have the confidence to practice some of the card tricks I watched from the video tutorials and maybe in some time, I will be able to show those tricksto my friends. My favourite magics are card tricks and stage magic, though its not possible for me to perform stage ones, card tricks seem to be the way for me. I have come across lots of underground communities like NeoMagicians and production companies like Ellusionist and Theory11 (hence my nick). However I want to extend my journey to AOM which I have heard is the epitome of magic contents, and though it might be wishful thinking, but AOM is where I want to end up in my newly found interests for magic

1. Favorite movie
Borat! Sacha Baron Cohen is one of the world’s greatest impersonator, totally love him. Well basically anything by him goes. Borat, Ali G, all the comedies. I’m into comedy mostly, the Scary Movie series was also one of my favourites. American Pie series was a good laugh as well. Those are some of my favourites but Borat ranks NO1 on the hierarchy. I went to the extend of downloading all Borat’s TV shows as well as the making and the deleted scenes, it was pretty awesome.
2. Favorite TV show
Prison Break would be my favourite. Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are brilliant actors, I think Miller rose to fame because of PB. I love the show mainly because of the storyline and most definitely the cliff hangers at the end of each episode. It’s just incredible the way the script writers manipulates the twists and turns that make you want to watch the next episode as soon as possible. I remember it was a stress-relief for me to sit in front of the monitor and watch through the new episodes. Can’t wait for it to air again in September
3. Describe one event in your life that has inspired you to do greatness.
One of the most important events in my life so far has been moving to study aboard. The day my family migrated overseas inspired me to study hard and invest time and effort in to everything I do. My parents spend years trying to get visa approval and money on my overseas education, their hardwork is what inspire me to keep going and complete my education to the best of my abilities.

I joined the BT world many "moon" ago, quite incidental really. I used to use P2P channels such as Limewire and eMule as my main source of downloadable contents, but when security breaches of P2P networks and anti-piracy raids become phenomenal it was the way out for me. As a "retiree" it was purely accidental that I stumbled upon a private tracker called Demonoid, and it changed my vision of piracy forever. I was introduced to the world of torrents - a utopia centralised by community, speed and a new level of security (that was before it was raided, but as you all know it's back). Hence my BT experience permeated since the end of 2006 upon my discovery of private trackers.

p.s. fatcat you might be thinking why I have little posts, no giveaways no reps and some posts asking just for invites. It's cause its too hard to be active virtually as well as in real life which is why I limited myself to be active on the trackers I use. I don't have any giveaway threads because I don't like public giveaways, it's not because I'm stingy or something, I give invites to my friends if they ever ask me. I don't have reps because I turned them off, I have 0 anyways. And I think I asked for a lot of tti hours, that is because I was trying to generate an invite for a friend which costs like 744 hours. At the time I had only 200 or something.

I got to say my favorite movie has to be The Shawshank Redemption (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/). It's a bit slow at first, but they build the characters up so that you really care for them and understand their hardships. A1 movie in my opinion.

My favorite TV show has to be Six Feet Under (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0248654/). It's finished now, but it was awesome from start to finish. For five seasons, i could not wait to see the next episode. The series finally was so good -probably the best hour of TV ever.

I don't really do greatness. But i can say that seeing my kids play and thinking that one day I will not be around any more has changed the way i do things in general. I try to be a better parent and better person and enjoy the time i have left.

I started torrenting as a way to get free stuff. It has evolved into a way to meet and chat with people around the world with similar interests.

I liken trading to stealing. I know it may be extreme but hear me out. When you steal something it's a fast way to get what you want rather then doing some work and earning what you desire. The same applies to trading. You get what you want but it's not really earned. I did trade earlier in my BT life and found out the hard way it was not the proper way to get what i wanted. I lost something I really liked and now know that if i really want something i need to earn it. And i'm not talkiong about kissing ass. I'm talking about getting to know people, networking and establishing friends that will help you as you help them.

In my opinion, quality is more important. I'd rather have a hand made Ferrari rather then several assembly line Fords.
