Yes, it is better than Nod32, imo. It updates every day, it warns about every virus on my pc. I found many viruses that Nod32 didn't.
I have also used both and all i can say bitdefender is not as good as nod32. If it was just a choice between those 2 it be NOD32 all the time for me.
Norton by the way is shit way to recourse hungry.
I've tried both as well, and can certainly say I've chosen which side to fall on: Nod32.
It feels as if Nod32 runs significantly faster and is more reliable when killing malware before it touches the registry. Nod32 also has IMON, which I believe BitDefender does not. I also firmly believe Nod32 runs smoother on my system - using less system resources overall for sure. And lastly, while I was giving BitDefender a shot, I found it to not work very well with other third-party anti-spyaware and general security software.
One particular thing I did like with BitDefender was its hourly updates (at least from what I remember)... Though this can be rather frustrating given updates are significantly larger than Nod32.
Bitdefender all the way
In my opinion, NOD32 is the best...
It uses less resources, and in all comparatives charts, it has the first place.
NOD32 is great
I recomand you nod32 :)
nod32 the best
Nod32 for sure, it's really the best. But Linux don't need this sh*t's :D
NOD32 is the best anti-virus out there. unfortunately, version 4 doesn't get along with Vista that well. also, don't try the firewall, it's crap. go for Outpost Firewall.
nod32 all the way
I use NOD32 Anti-virus Business Edition, AVG will find more trojans which I think are 100% false.
Configure NOD32 correctly and NOD32 runs great!
Nod32 been a user for a long time now.I did have a few problems when version 4 came out with xp...But I upgraded to vista 64 and nod32 v4 runs like a ghost on steroids. Can't even tell its there.
i use norton ... love it
nod 32 way better
i too have used bitdefender tool security 2009, its good. Bitdefender is No.1 Antivirus in top 10, Kaspersky being the 2nd
What rating table are you drooling over ? Look at the over all picture and use a full security suite then judge . Bit is rated 3 th on some sites . Norton rated better . Do these so called experts actually use the fucking programs ?
This year's version of BitDefender gets middle-of-the-road ratings. PC Magazine gives it a respectable but unspectacular 3 stars, with "decent performance" and a few extra features including online backup and remote configuration. BitDefender Internet Security 2009info (*Est. $30) and BitDefender Total Security 2009info (*Est. $50) are basically the same program but the latter adds maintenance and backup software.

Nod32 is pretty good.
Symantec Endpoint Protection (the business version of NIS) started off fairly good last year, but since then the performance hit on the systems I maintain has got steadily worse.
I've no reason to believe that this year's offering will be any better, considering they are making exactly the same claims now as they did 12 months ago.
Consequently I'm currently in the process of uninstalling this crap from about 50 systems, and believe me it's a nightmare. Bits are often left installed, and twice I've had to resort to a manual uninstall of registry entries, drivers etc, and I've only done about a dozen so far. I might have been able to do the uninstalls with the management tool, but that crapped out too and also had to be manually uninstalled.
So now it is over to Eset. Now that I've figured out their management tools, Nod32 V4 is a breeze to install and configure.
I have nod and it works great never tried bitdefender but the torrent community seems to like nod better
