I would not say every tracker as not in them all, but all trackers rated 5 or higher I think are over rated .

I don't under rate trackers but there are clearly a lot not on the wtaw list that are a lot better than a lot on it and some have either only mentioned once or twice or never here, infact sites that aint in the wtaw are as a rule more friendly and have better atmosphere than the ones near the top of wtaw list imho. This is due to the fact that members there tend to be more relaxed and less worried about losing there accounts.

define what 'underrated' or 'overrated' is? Is it the tarding level you are looking at or are you looking at recognition of a tracker in BT community or something else?

If it is the trading level you look at then keep looking.

If you are looking for recognition of a tracker in BT community then i would say none is overrated or underrated. SCC which most for some reason think is underrated is one of the (if not the) fastest (w.r.t. pre) tracker in entire bt community...everyone who is involved in some short of pretime racing knows that.

Trackers like THC or the one run by sysop few posts above me aren't underrated either. Their members know and appreciate what the tracker has to offer...and that is all that matter. If the tracker wanted attention from outside world they would be racing in pre channel, advertizing themselves over torrent forums, posting a review or something alike....which obviously they don't.

Yeah, you may be right. It's just when music trackers are usually discussed, Waffles and What are usually the most talked about. Maybe because they have more content than P and E? I don't know. But, for lossless only trackers where you can up only your own cd's/vinyls that you have properly ripped, and considering the amount of members each tracker has, there is a whole lot of content on each one.

It isn't that Pedro's and E are underrated. It's more that Waffles and especially What are overrated in the sense that people just check number of torrents and then they are automatically the best ones.

I for one would not like to be stuck with only one or two of them.. any of them.

this is a very fair question because more often than not, its the members of places like this that bring unnecessary hype/and or attraction to a tracker.. a tracker is just that a tracker.. it's all you folks that make too much of a deal out of them.. seriously now..

you can have your favorites, and ones that you don't like or w/e that's all well and good, it's a personal choice.... but, when you folks start making threads saying how great you think one tracker is... or how bad you think it is, all that does is bring spam wars involving the lovers and the haters... thats all nothing else..

but, yeah... it's mainly members of trade/invite sites that make all this hype.. then when someone doesn't like it they blame staff for trying to be l33t and this or that... blah, blah.... when in fact its not staff at all...... lmao

demonoid is given too much acclaim. it's really just a public tracker, but with all the bad things of a private tracker.
pirate bay is just buggy. the coders should get to work on that .p2p protocol and just throw their tracker away (they may already have).

Demonoid is in no way overrated in my opinion. It's a huge tracker that has a ton of content. New and rare. And that's what the tracker is known for. It's taken for granted by a lot of people.

No its not

Mininova is a torrent link site, it does not have its own tracker (well i think it may do now but it is not for everything, there are special torrents on it, havnt been there for eons though) but it is definitely not a public tracker.

Demonoid and TPB are trackers, and 1 is Public the other Semi Public, but they still have their own tracker.

sorry but Demonoid have a bad reputation (riaa, viruses...) and many torrent users think it's a crappy tracker so it's not because there's a couple of posts defending the tracker that every torrent users think the same thing.
furthermore, new torrenters generally tend to disavow Demonoid after getting in "renown" private trackers.
