Napster died and torrents came alive.
napser`s alive and torrents died my friend
First I used napster, then I used Emule. The dl speed was absolutely terrible, so I tried torrent on private trackers. I got happy with torrent since the dl speed was amazingly good.
because I had nothing better to do
because my business has no costumers and people around me are piece of shit.
To be a yar har fiddle de dee pirate. But in all truth, things are so overpriced I refuse to pay for them. I drives me batty that a game can come out for something like the wii and be priced the same as the elder scrolls will be. I pay for things I want to see lots more of and they deserve the cash. I payed for fallout 3 and new vegas on the 360 and Oblivion, And I plan on paying for skyrim. Everything else though.... PIRATE! lol Out of around 400 games or so I have in my collection for all my systems. (Maybe more.) I've paid for around 25-40 of them.
Because I wanted to download free shit.
For the community. And of course for the packs. But first and foremost, the community. Thank God all the elitiism and status wankathons of the traditional scene don't exist in the torrent world...
Did I mention packs?
I saw Pirates of the Caribbean, was impressed & motivated by that movie to become a pirate. But can't became like them (practically impossible), so became software pirate. :P
Fucking around with botnets on XDCC networks for over a decade got boring. Hello private trackers! :D
Tired of downloading from filesharing sites, and inputting captchas. LOL. :D
P2P has the best overall combination of content and speed.
Well it has to be contents - Quality contents, which you get to download for
free!!
Plus with so many peoples to help you around you tend to improvise your taste
and grab variety of good stuffs. And not to forget you can learn new things too :D
Umm - free shit.
Primarily, for getting any files that suit my fancy like...music, movies, porn or business content. But of late I'm trying to involve and relate to these various communities. I've been attempting to increase my social network and share with like minded people.
Got tired of eMule, and then accidentally got introduced by friend to some russian BT tracker. Also, uTorrent really maxed out my connection while eMule's speeds were terrible comparing to BT, so I decided to competely switch to BT as a main free shit source.
Got tired of all the viruses on other file sharing networks. Someone mentioned torrents to me and it evolved from there. Private trackers seemed to be the way to go to get stuff without the viruses. Another advantage of the Private tracker was to not get the fake stuff. It's an addiction now.
got tired of going to DVD Store wasting my damn $s :P
P2P releasing games/movies faster, so why wait few months and waste $ on things which we can get for free lol
Download the stuff that I am interested in.
I'm a pirate so therefore I pirate. Aarrr!
i become a torrenter wayyy before any of you losers did

to drive the economy
I got pushed into filesharing (Limewire/DC++) by DRM on movies and music. If I couldn't rip my own CDs to make copies/mixed Cds for myself and rip rented movies to watch when I wanted to, then so be it. That naturally evolved into torrents, not because I had any trouble finding the right files using Gnutella and DC, but simply ease of use once the basics were in place.
Not to mention that ordering a CD would often take up to two months to arrive and all video stores combined had maybe 6-7 copies of the most popular new movies. Living in a small secluded country isn't always that great.
coz I know what Im downloading not like emule etc :)
why = one reason= greed !! (and kaza was famous for distributing virus)
How= Accidentally :D , read on...
i was in need of a software, my friend told me over the phone that he knows a place where i will get that software & i don't even have to pay for it :P
he instructed me over the phone , go to a site supernova.org ...do this go there... blah blah blah.. now save the file, damn, i saved it was on KB file :( was just surprised how a 100+mb file became kb :P
He told, "you got the whole file but its compressed & encrypted". then he suggested me to go to some some & download the software, bit-torrent, icon is like purple color jokers hat, almost no interface (GUI), and then made me open the .torrent files in that.
He told me that small softwares will decrypt the whole file for me, but i have be connected to internet. .. lolz
