Still not completely convinced I didn't, to be totally honest. It was rather vivid. There's no puddle per se, but there's a suspicious whiff from a pair of the missus's Carvela shoes which I shall be attributing to her feet.

No I did not mean disembark. In fact, I specifically chose deboard to avoid using disembark. I think we need to put these words in order of goodness. Deboard sounds like you're ripping up a floor, disembark is a solid term but evokes a maritime feel and alight is a rather lovely intransitive verb that will confuse approximately 92% of non-British people due to them thinking of fire.
So; alight > disembark > deboard.
