No mention of Doctor Who.... Just wondering
The Universe-Cosmic holes episode
How could posibly anyone would be curious?! Once again you forgot this isn't a science board and no one understands the physical laws.
Here some examples:
-To create a time machine or a wormhole machine that would take us to a distant galaxy, we'll have to have the physics of an advanced civilisation, a civilisation perhaps milions of years beyond ours.
-A wormhole may lead us to another galaxy by walking 10 feet thru it or even going to another time.
-In the distant future we might be able to travel in the past and perhaps change history.
-One day if somebody knocks on your door and claims to be your grand-grand-grand-grand-grandson someone from the future going backwards in time to meet his ancestors, don't slam the door; perhaps in the future our descendants will have the posibility of time travel and perhaps one day they may come knocking on your door.
-Objects moving at closer speed of light age slower than static objects and objects near a gravitating body age more slowly than objects farther away.
-Clocks run at different rates in different gravitational fields; the stronger the gravitational field, the more slowly time passes relative to someone out in space where there's no gravitational field. On Earth the clocks run slightly more slower than clocks high up in the sky.
-The clocks in the GPS system of satellites run a little more quickly than the clocks here on Earth because there are in a weaker gravitational field. The scientists and engineers developing the GPS systems had to take into account the different rate at which clocks run. If they haven't done that correctly than your GPS system wouldn't work. If you would taking a trip from LA to NY you would end up somewhere in Massachusetts.
OK old and classic ones since sure everyone knows the current collection.... I am far too old it seems :S
Space above and beyond (was great series)
Starhunter/and the slightly worse remaked 2nd season (OK not really super great but before its` time)
Sliders (really no one else loved this?)
Babylon 5 (You are just evil if you love sci-fi and have never watched the great 5 years and several movie (for tv) spin offs)
If your a child of the 80's check out The Last Starfighter, Explorers and Space Camp.
Apart from the ones mentioned, Defying Gravity, Falling Skies.
The Prisoner (not the bad remake of a few years ago) was a good series with a beginning
and an end and memorable music. Considering when was made, it holds up pretty good.
Patrick McGoohan was the star.
There was also a South African SCI-FI series about water shortages and parallel worlds
that was good. Charlie Jade is the name. Series in 2005. AlphaVerse, BetaVerse, and
GammaVerse.
I's science fiction so if you didn't like it I'd be worried that I passed through some inter-dimensional rift and am trapped in a strange alternate reality where nothing makes sense.
Cant beat the originals 1950's b movies,,, this island earth, forbidden planet, oh and anything StarTrek. woho.. not to mention the Alien movies.
Oh and any help on this would be good. I seen a trailer last year for a scifi movie where 2 worlds / planets where passing close by and the humans could pass between each other by simply throwing a rope up which appeared down on the other side.. thought at the time it looked good and worth a watch but for the life of me cant remember what it was ......
ps apologies, not a very good description I know .... :)
Blade Runner, Predator, Terminator, Big trouble in Little China
Backstrom is a new cop show - very good
Star wars & Star Trek
I really enjoyed screamers; thought it was a great sci fi flick
Blade Runner
Space: Above and Beyong
"The Expanse"
(Not a BSG, but probably the best scifi drama out there at present.) :alien:
Anything with time travel. Here's a list I found online:
