The praise for FL is factual. Rank up your MAM account and you'll find it offered on their invite forum. Also, don't underestimate RuTracker, DHT search engines, DDL forums, Usenet and eMule ;)

You are the worst used-car salesman ever.

I bet he at least would mention his own product in the sales pitch. ;)

Re: Do You Still Use Private Trackers?
My life has been pretty easy ever since I left the private trackers. No more hassle of uploads, maintaining the ratio, invites and other stuff related to the private trackers. Who's got time for all the shit anymore? I find all the staff I want on DDL sites. For Music, there are some very good bots over at telegram. Also, left MVgroup, now I get all the documentaries from quest. The only private tracker I'm still a member of is Avistaz only because they don't disable the accounts for inactivity but I only go there to fetch the subs I can't find elsewhere.

With that said, "a large chunk of Reddit at least" may be an acceptable answer.

Will get power user rank on MAM in a couple of days and then I can apply for FL invite. Do they still require your MAM account to be 5 months old?

Recruitment is de facto suspended, but unofficial giveaways are done often and have no hard requirements.
-
Re: Do You Still Use Private Trackers?
Yeah, I can now access the unofficial giveaway thread. Now waiting for someone to offer it.

I've no idea about cinema obscura. Secret cinema is old but it went down in 2017 and managed to come back again. So it's basically secret cinema 2.0 at this point.
Edit: Yeah I think it was cinema obscura that went down and came back as secret cinema.

Yes, and those aren't even the oldest trackers I remember! :p
Anyway, still using them, mainly chinese HD ones!

At one point, Chinese encoding groups changed home trackers like socks. Better to have accounts on all of them just to be sure :turned:

Re: Do You Still Use Private Trackers?
From what I've seen, the FL invites in the unofficial thread on MAM get snatched up within few minutes and as such it becomes a matter of luck. Any other place where I can look for an FL invite?
-
Re: Do You Still Use Private Trackers?
You could create your own luck using Check4Change and preparing your request and proofs in advance. :)

Had no idea about this extension. Thanks for the tip.

Re: Do You Still Use Private Trackers?
Only private tracker i've used is IPT but my account got disabled for inactivity :( i mainly used it for harder to find things and content with poor seeding. Also felt slightly safer getting applications from them vs rando public sites.

Re: Do You Still Use Private Trackers?
I still use em but really only occasionally - filesharing has relaly died down with all the streaming services

Now that there's a dozen of them fighting over your wallet, and Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are showing ads (yes, to paying customers!), there's been a reversal of sorts on this regard.

I throw my anecdotal experience up as evidence to support that. I refuse to pay for ads PERIOD. I will pay, or I will tolerate ads - NEVER BOTH. :)

It's like cable TV all over again, nya?

Does feel like it. Also been years since i came on here - glad to see it's still alive (barely lol)

Re: Do You Still Use Private Trackers?
I stopped using private trackers for a long time, as streaming apps covered everything I needed. Thankfully I kept my accounts active, as I'm torrenting again due to how awful all the streaming services have become.

Re: Do You Still Use Private Trackers?
No source, legal or otherwise, has everything or is guaranteed to offer what it does have forever. Keep your options open (at least to some extent) and one day you'll be glad you did.
