i have 2 pc's, one with 2-40gb 7200 8mb drives, and the other with 1-120gb 7200 8mb and 1-20gb 7200 2mb drive. both are linked together and sucking the money directly out of my pocket................wow, loads of fun, right? :w00t: electric bills suck
51 GB capacity, 20.7 GB free.
60 gigs - 12 gigs free....
.... not that this topic is interesting nemore <_<
11.4 gig free
7.3 gig free :)
Actually, if they are using the metric means of a GB 1,000,000 Bytes, as opposed to the Binary, then you would be losing 72MB, for every GB they claim, so I just multipled 72 Times my 120 Supposed GB, and got nearly 9 GB, 120 - 9 = 111GB, which is why i only have 111GB.Quote:

Not to start another of the I hate company post (But I will anyway :P )
I hate the fact companies are doing that, buy a (whatever size) and you end up with gigabytes less, I know you lose some data in formatting, but now I've heard that it's because companies are using 1000 as the number mbs in a gig, instead of 1024. So no matter the size or what you lose in formatting, you still losing 24 megabytes a gig, just because of the damn companies manufacturing the things.
Ahh well, no more rants, at least not tonight.
I suddenly really hate WD.

I have two PC's. First has two hard drives 120Gb and 80Gb, but only have 6 gigs free. I have too many tv programs on it and cant be bothered to convert them to watch on dvd player.
Second PC, this one (an older model) i have 80gigs and about another 6 gig free.
I really need to back up the stuff i have on to disk otherwise the space will disappear soon :o
But my prob. is do i convert the tv progs i've recorded so i can watch them on my dvd player or just copy them on data format <_<
I need to think very hard
Oops :o problem solved, i accidently turned off the power on my older pc (with 80 gigs) when using partition magic (dos mode) to free up space. I freed up more space than i intended - damaging data on the drive, so had to reformat it.
On the down side i have to download the movies i damaged, but hey i've gained 72 gigs :D

I've got one 120GB and one 60GB in this PC and one 120GB in the other PC.
If anyone can get their hands on a WD 320 GB one that'll be impresive.
160 GB Maxtor HDD
45 GB Free (Although 50 GB are being used as storage for several DVD's before I shrink them to a decent burning size)
My music alone is exactly 7 GB in size @ 192 bitrate. I'm doing ok I think :D
dual 250gb wd Caviar 8mb chache on separate PCI SATA (which is slow)
dual 72gb wd Raptor sata RAID 1 (i havent seen any sata RAIDs that support 0+1 or else i would have gotten it + 2 more Raptors on onboard SATA RAID
total space used on HDD 1, 121.71gb
total space used on HDD 2, not yet partitioned, all space free
total space used on logical HDD 3, 12.23gb
to all sm@rt peoples who want to build a wd Raptor array, remember to put ur OS onto it, otherwise it is a waste of time.
Also, install all software u plan to use onto the raptors, and all dloads onto the caviars
for all who wonder, i dont purchase these: they are gifts from out of town :01:
i got like 3 gigs....only music i actually hear...Quote:

i'm sure the people in musicworld would disagree with you two ;)
dude 60 gigs of MP3S is 2 much....if you put em on a playlist and randomize it it wouldnt finish in 3 years (to start the cycle again....)
i've got in the region of 70GB of mp3's and last time i checked, it'd take approximately 700 hours (roughly a month) to play them all once :)Quote:
