Heres is 15%s super kvik guide to making your 1st website
1. Go here and register to get a free simple host - (whatever name you want - http://www.domaindlx.com/ itll be up and runnin as soon as u register
2.make a new folder on your desktop called TEST1
3. Go to this page : http://i.domaindlx.com/zedaxax/HARDCORE/HARDCORE.htm
(or any other page you want to host)
clik File - save as - and save it in the folder TEST1
4.Right clik on TEST 1 folder > send to> compressed zip (you will then get a zip file of Test1
5.go to the above registered host - login
4. on the menu it says "upload" clik on arrow next to it and mark zip file
a new window will come - upload your Test1.zip file
Done
5. then clik on Test1 file in the host - clik on "Hardcore.htm"
and voila you have now succesfully Hosted your first Page under your own name.
Next step is to start editing it etc - thats another story...
forexample - mark the harcore.htm in the host then clik "edit"
you will get the html version of it
where it says >0n N0v3mber 9th E4rth will n3v3r b3 t3h s4m3.<
change it to >I AM GOD!<
save changes
and look at the site
Once i got past hosting one page the world opened up for me

that site you made looks serious (thought you where going to make something real paint style:P)
except it loads REAL slow....(could be host(my fault) or the size of images are too big.
I am presently still using NamoWebitor (trial) and am slowly going over to dreamweaver. i find Namo easier to understand as a Noob
how to make alink
load your page in Dreamweaver or Namo
Mark the Image or ext you want linked
in the menu bar there is a "Create Hyperlink" button looks like a chain
or
right clik the image - the text you want linked
clik on "Create Hyperlink"
fill in the adress where you want the link to go
Ok thx. :) That host kinda sucks though it always runs out of bandwidth. Do u know any better ones?Quote:

I have Comcast and I registered my name for the website. What would my sites name look like if I got the name shortened? O yea, and how do I set it up for me to mak a webpage and upload my zip file?Quote:

As for uploading your files you could do it with IE by accessing your ftp space once activated at fxp://members.yourisp.com/username/, call your ISP and ask for the specifics or you could use an ftp program which is generally better like SmartFTP which is what I use...
You should learn how to program in HTML
It's very easy, and it will HUGELY help you.
There's a zillion sites on HTML, just google for them.
There are too many things need to do for making a website.
Good luck!
The language is Latin ya fools..its a Template..you add some text and away ya go...looks sharp though!!!Quote:
