problem solved, thanks guys
i recommend emue plus ;)
sounds like you have to put your own port into azureus...if you want ease of use, use bittornado. i find that easier to use and more effective
hi all i am using azureus to dload torrents but from last one week ive been facing this problem. i am losing data in dloads. i dloaded a 1.3gb file and over 300mb was discarded. i thought it was only that file but i am dloading another file right now and the rate of discarded data is same. i used safepeer to filter bad ip but still no result.
The latest version of Azueus is known to do this to certain trackers (i.e. Empornium). Try going back to a version before 2.2.0.2
SB, that's to do with the announce-interval, which defaults to the longest possible in az 2.2.0.2 - this causes the tracker not to count uploaded data should the announce fail even once. It's just a stats thing so probably not to do with the problem here.
I think joyceanblue should find a small torrent to test on and try an older version of az, his current version and ABC. That should determine whether it's the client.
tried 2.2.0.0 the problem is still there.
Is it just on the one torrent file or are you having exactly the same problem with all torrents on all clients?
hey, about ¨discarded MBs¨, what does this mean to a download?, cus I´ve seen it on Azureus too, but never stop to think of it.
ex:
Im downloading a 350 MB file, on the Details, ¨General¨tab, it sais,
-Elapsed: 3h 14m
-Downloaded: 124.8MB (384.0kB Discarded)
it means it was downloaded but didnt pass the hash check so it was discarded and you have to download it again.
Does Azurues have a setting to change the announce timing? I only used it a little and didnt like it so im not sure.
Hi, I suddenly seem to be having probs with Azureus 2.oo2, It has been working fine for ages and then I dl Phanntom and after I had finished and went to purely seeding it starts crashing! what happens is when I minimise it after a while it vanishs from there and when I move my mouse over the icon in the system tray it goes from there as well! I have never had a prob before. I installed Java 6 as per someone on the Azureus forums and it hasnt made any ddifference. Any ideas please?
Java 6?
use 1.5.0.01
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
reinstall Azureus
Sorry 1.6
Hi. I'm having yellow smilies in Azureus v2.2.0.2 all the time. I have read some of the posts and other websites, but I'm still stuck. :helpsmili
O/S: Win XP SP2
Router IP: 192.xxx.x.1
My PC IP: 192.xxx.x.2
I'm using Netgear router and has forwarded port 16953 to IP 192.xxx.x.2 as stated here.
I also made an exception for both TCP and UDP ports 16953 in SP2 firewall. (Control Panel - Windows Firewall - Exceptions) In Azureus, I have disabled UPnP (Tools - Options - Plugins - UPnP) and my incoming TCP listening port is 16953.
Despite this, the health indicator is still a yellow smile all the time. The details of the torrent show that all peers are "L". So far, the torrent runs only at about 0 to 4.7 kB/s. Upload is at about 13 kB/s. There are 6 (19) seeds and 19 (87) peers.
Later, I even disabled the SP2 firewall altogether, changed all port references to 6881 and forwarded port to IP 192.xxx.x.1 instead. None of it helps... so I changed it back to the early settings.
According to this, constant yellow smilies and all "L"s indicate Azureus is unable to receive remote connections... Did I do something wrong? How can I fit this to receive remote connections? Pls help. Thanks.
1. dont use port 6881.
2. if you have a router you dont need the XP filewall most have build in protection.
3. do you always get a yellow status? tried other torrents?
I'm using port 16953 now. I have disabled the SP2 firewall. And yes, I always get yellow smilies, even with other torrents. Any idea how I fit this?
I always see lots of yellow smilies but always get good speeds though
This has nearly always to do with incorrectly forwarded ports, from your router.Quote:

Ok, I have checked the port forwarding. Firewall is off. The router is forwarding port 16953 to 192.xxx.x.2 and Azureus is using 16953 as incoming TCP listening port. Is there something else I can check or do?
try disabling the UPnP function in Azureus
As mentioned in my 1st post, UPnP is disabled.
I'm using cable modem... Let me confirm something...
Router WAN IP: 202.xxx.xx.xx6 (DHCP)
Router LAN IP: 192.xxx.x.1
My PC IP: 192.xxx.x.2
The router should be forwarding the port to IP 192.xxx.x.2, correct?
check your ip address really is 192.xxx.x.2 by opening up command prompt and typing ipconfig
to run command prompt: start -> run -> cmd
This may be necessary because unless you've set up a static ip, you're ip address can and will change
(by the way hiding your network ip address is pointless it adds basically nothing to your security)
You seem to have a pretty good idea of how to forward ports, but just to confirm you should forward
16953 to 192.xxx.xxx.2
Turn off the SP2 firewall, its rubbish
Do you have any other firewalls?
If all else fails fiddle with your routers security settings until it works (they usually have some firewall stuff, or it might block anonymous requests which potentially causes problems.)
Yap, ipconfig gives me 192.xxx.x.2. SP2 firewall is disabled and there are no other firewalls. I have tried ABC and BitComet as well. No difference.
What other router settings may affect remote connections?
1. Router = DHCP server.
2. RIP direction: none - "RIP (Routing Information Protocol, RFC1058 and RFC1389) allows a router to exchange routing information with other routers." But I have only 1 router...
3. MTU size = 1500
4. SPI firewall enabled. - "The SPI (Stateful Inpection) Firewall protects your LAN against Denial of Service attacks. This should only be disabled in special circumstances."
5. Default DMZ server disabled.
6. Respond to ping on Internet port: no
7. Port forwarding as mentioned in previous post.
I have tried toggling 4, 5 and 6 to no effect...
My ISP is using a proxy server. So maybe the following is the problem. But how do I resolve this? Do I have to do anything to the proxy options in Azureus - Options - Connections? If so, what do I do?
Edit: Anyway, Azureus says it's OK during port test under Tools - configuration wizard.

http://www.boxtorrents.com/faq.php#prox3
How do I find out if I'm behind a (transparent/anonymous) proxy?
Try ProxyJudge.org. It lists the HTTP headers that the server where it is running received from you. The relevant ones are HTTP_CLIENT_IP, HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR and REMOTE_ADDR.
Why is my port listed as "---" even though I'm not NAT/Firewalled?
The TorrentBits tracker is quite smart at finding your real IP, but it does need the proxy to send the HTTP header HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR. If your ISP's proxy does not then what happens is that the tracker will interpret the proxy's IP address as the client's IP address. So when you login and the tracker tries to connect to your client to see if you are NAT/firewalled it will actually try to connect to the proxy on the port your client reports to be using for incoming connections. Naturally the proxy will not be listening on that port, the connection will fail and the tracker will think you are NAT/firewalled.
-------------------------
Also, IKE mentions Internet Connection Sharing here. Is this relevant to Win XP?
so i was creating a new torrent with the latest CVS version of Azureus v2.2.0.2_B41 and noticed a couple new options, or maybe i may have missed before.

now if they would just add a search option
that would be a good thing to use right?
does any one use azureus, and if so how does the multi tracker info work when creating torrents? I want my azureus to be able to fall back on another tracker if mine goes down, and i cant seem to make it work. i use az 2.2.0.2, and it dont make any sense to me. i tested it by making a torrent, and doing what i thought was adding the back up tracker, shut my tracker down, and the torrent just stops. it never tries to use the back-up. anyone have any insight on what to do?
did you upload the torrent to the backup tracker?
i have it set up so that the torrents dont need to be uploaded in order to be tracked, same with the back-up tracker.
the little guys are both green but it still displays 0B/s...
If there's a high seeder/leecher ratio that's not unusual. It probably means there are enough seeders with faster speeds than you.
If it is on torrentbytes that's what usually happens, the admins there don't seem to care that new members can't get a decent upload rate. If things don't improve I'll probably take the same attitude and just leech until they kick me. Not a position I want to take, but if I can't seed what option do I have?
was wondering about the same issue - with same program, azureus 2.2.0.2 - but with the difference that I am attempting to upload the torrents to the different trackers; and the only tracker that is recognized is the one which I put in the original "announce URL" blank - the trackers I enter as "new tracker" groups and "new tracker" in the multiple tracker config screen all return a "incorrect announce url" error ...
hoping someone can help - thanks!
if you open your multi-torrent with notepad you will see that there is a main tracker, then a tracker list.
the trick is to have the "tracker youre uploading to" as the main tracker
with azureus what i have to do is remove "all other" tracker announce urls from the torrent, then hit save, then re-open the "edit torrent" dialog and add the other ones back in, then export the torrent
http://img15.echo.cx/img15/9779/clipboard029uz.png
then i open it in notepad just to be sure the tracker i want is the first one listed before uploading it
Hi guys,
I've been using Azureus for a while now. Updated it recently, and at first it went a bit funny - all my speeds were really slow, but it seems to have sorted itself out now.
But, I got up this morning, and my uploads are really rubbish. I don't know why at all.
I've taken a picture of my uploads from the activity page, and attached it to this message. As you can see, it stays at a fairly low level, then every few seconds peaks. The thing is, these peaks are not sudden peaks in any of my torrents. What's causing these peaks? Is one of my torrents repeatedly sending information back to the tracker rather than just when it's finished downloading? The thing is, it's not having a very good effect on my uploads - or my downloads really. Everytime the upload peaks, my downloads drastically decrease as well.
The thing is, yesterday, everything was fine: my uploads were at a constant high speed. Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks a lot guys.
get the latest java
I've downloaded that - that was what solved my slow speeds to begin with. As I say, yeseterday it was fine - it was only when I checked my computer this morning that it went like this.
So I download the new azureus and nothing downloads...The light on the bottom goes green but the torrents stay red no matter how many peers/seeds. My dl says something like 900bytes and so does my upload. WTF?
Edit: By the way, I changed no settings.
