Unlike the European immigrants who came here and assimilated and became Americans, Hispanic immigrants don't want to assimilate. They want to change the demographics of the country and change the country into what they came from.
Just look at South Phoenix and West Phoenix. And then compare those neighborhoods to Scottsdale or Fountain Hills. What do you see?

European immigrants didn't assimilate, they committed genocide on the indigenous population to build America in their own image.
Even later in history when most of the pioneering had been done, immigrants came over and kept their "old country" traditions. We got to where we are now by absorbing immigrant traditions into America, not the other way round.
