For the first time in my life, I've got pretty good insurance. The total cost is still rising, but it will be $200k+, including my 1-week return visit due to Acute Respiratory Failure. Our out of pocket expense will be approx. $4k. For once, I feel like I'm ahead of the game when it comes to insurance-- a lifetime of paying in, no previous benefits...

The hospital I went to has been the #2 heart institute in the country for several years-- I believe that has drawn a significant group of talented doctors. They saw us through my wife's breast cancer, as well as my son's heart valve replacements. Good hands.

MTV really needs to update it's name to something more along the lines of RealityShowsforIdiotsTV.
