I run LimeWire 4.12.6 PRO over 2mg DSL AO-Hell (YEAH! I know but its dirt cheap for UK standards with no limits with good uptime so as long as I dont load the software im ok with it)

I run 3 PC's ALL INTEL.. A P4 2Ghz desktop a P3 1.2Ghz desktop and a P4 2.3 Ghz Laptop.. Windows fan, First net connection in '95 and ran a BBS before that so file sharing is noting new..

Likes "computers, Fast food, TV, FileZ"

Hates "ppl who Leech, Politics, Religion, anyone called Boss, the police"

have downloaded a few albums but never uploaded one. I realise this goes against the fileshare ethics but i just haven't sussed out how to go about doing it.
Here are my questions
i) how do I go about setting it up?
ii) how will this effect my pc?
iii)What are the risks?
iv) what's the best site to get punk rock?
I am a total novice and have only been into this for a couple of weeks,
and i would appreciate any advice

i) how do I go about setting it up?

Depends on the software you run.. I suggest LimeWire and it is setup to share a folder of choice on install! LimeWire is free and LimeWire PRO is a small one time payment

ii) how will this effect my pc?

It wont (as long as your on a full duplex connection) you wont even know its working in the background as the upstream and downstream are dedicated

it uses only a few KB of memory on most "GOOD" software.

iii)What are the risks?

No more risk than anything.. like anything on the internet use a firewall (not the win XP one) get good antivirus software.

sharing a folder will not in any way affect PC security as users can only download the files you put there!

NOTE: anybody with the ability to crack your PC will be able to do it with or without sharing! On the other hand not sharing is asking for someone to mess with you just because its a pig thing to do and all Leeches should die a slow death!

Also there is no network record of your sharing is P2P

iv) what's the best site to get punk rock?

depends who is logged on.. LOL.. GET LimeWire for MP3 perhaps you can share some punk with me!
