has anyone been on the revo irc channel to see what happened?
I was connected to the site yesterday, and spoke to someone who was in IRC and they were getting a massive DDOS attack. I wish there was someplace we could get official news?
Hopefully they can get RevTT back on or if anybody gets any new info if they could post in here it would be great. Thanks
DDOS makes sense as I can not resolve DNS for RevTT at the moment
Getting redirects for RevTT Now.
There are many sites getting dDos attacks atm - some sort of concerted attack. Funny that other similar sites are not getting attacked ?
All sorts of conspiracy theories abound :)
Anti-piracy resorting to underhand methods ?
Is the redirect ok? I get a warning and want to make sure that it is safe to login. Thanks
Thanks much appreciated
Can anyone explain me what has happened with FTN, What, and BitMe?
Nevermind, all are having site issues.
BCG is another one down now, site and tracker... :(
Now ptp is down and ftn, btn and whatcd are still a no go.
BCG still down.
Sandboxie is nice, if you are ever iffy about anything, run it through sandboxie first. Guaranteed to extend the life of your OS. ;)
GFT is down.
Now bmtv is down also. WTF! is going on i now i have nothing left to use other than public sites which i try to avoid since i do not want anymore legal action letters.
E is down to? Damn, these guys are going after a bunch of sites(or maybe this particular one is down for other reasons).
Gft still down
BTN still down, getting nervous now.....
CG has now hit with a DDOS as well. They're encouraging their members to keep calm. But most of them are stoned, so that was their first inclination anyway.
Seriously, though, hoping it's back up soon. Solid gold.
BTN back up. Yeah
CG is back up (if anyone can see this; it looks like my post announcing that it had been DDOS-attacked wasn't approved for some reason)! Man, that didn't take long at all. Just another reason I love those guys.
A lot of the sites being attacked use CloudFlare, a sort of huge RAM cloud backup that helps to deflect the dDos attacks. Some manage to be available intermittently during the attacks. Some do not. Some don't have this backup, and are knocked out right away. Some have simply shut down during the attacks.
Give yourselves a laugh by seeing this guy posing as the attacker and trying to blackmail WhatCD : https://twitter.com/Sil3ntlyKilling
I agree. My pastime and enjoyment have been seriously curbed these last few days, and I am not happy about it, but that convo brought a smile :)
But also, how often do you have to tell folk what's going on? They still keep coming back and saying my torrent is going red, or I can't get into the forum, or this or that site is down, even after you've told them time and time again that there is a general dDos attack going on that is affecting many sites, not just theirs. Yes, they should leave their torrents running, but no, they should not keep updating them. If they can't log into the site, there's a good chance the tracker is down. If they can log in, there's a good chance the tracker will be up. Yes, they may lose seed time and seed bonus if applicable. Yes, they may be falsely accused of H&R, but the staff are aware of this....
So a little light relief is always welcome, no? :)
Thegft is back
I can't access tvtorrents.com anyone else having issues?
Is Bit soup down for others?
Bitsoup up
TVT Down
whats up with ftn?
Do you guys not look back a bit through the posts ?
Since several days now there has been a multi dDos attack on many sites which has brought many down. Some have succesfully fought the attack and managed to remain up if shakily, some have been up and down, some have just gone off air for the duration, and some have mostly lost the battle to stay up. The dDos costs bandwidth too, so it is often cheaper just to shut down, or take action which results in the same effect on users.
It's getting to be old news now, but read here, although these three are only three of many, many more : http://torrentfreak.com/ddos-attacks...ackers-140106/
I'm sorry for being impatient. Not everyone can be expected to be aware of what has been going on. It's a sad world when such things can happen, or even be allowed to happen.
It's a race to see whether officialdom gets to the culprits before unofficial peeps get to them. Personally, I hope it's not officialdom that gets them :)
And I would so love to be in a position where I would be among one of those to get them.................................
Unfortunately, it's still going on, and some sites are still down, but the odd one is up now. I won't enumerate them, but if your fave site is not coming up when you go to log in, at least you'll have a good idea why not......
