Re: Last one to post wins the internets
My daughter does enjoy swearing, speaking her mind, and seems to have lousy taste in men. Perhaps Ireland would be a paradise for her.
My son's biggest challenge is with speaking. Quite often he can be nearly impossible to decipher. I suspect he's a natural Welsh speaker born in the wrong land. At least that's what the note I'd pin to his shirt would say when I dropped him off at the border.

Leaving Ukraine open to attack isn't totally heinous at all. FFS, it's not even US government intel, it's fucking commercial. If Trump had a terrible fatal accident, like say falling out of a window, I wouldn't be upset at all.

Irelands is basically the States. Divided into north and south. Half the populations want to murder the other half. Under the sway of an evil foreign empire. Think about it. I know I haven't.

Times change, hair styles change, interest rates fluctuate and global dominoes fall where they may. Glad you brought this up, especially today, because today is the very first instance where I can confidently speculate that a United Ireland is finally within sight and indeed something of an inevitability.
The long term plan has come to fruition and we have finally outbred the huns in the North. They're now content to be gangsters and terrorise their own community with racketeering, drug dealing, human trafficking and racism against the influx of immigrants intrepid enough to attempt a life here. The writing is quite literally on the walls for the cunts. They won't go without a lot of noise, but noise we can handle. They're too afraid to come to the table because they just don't have the skulls anymore and nationalism is indefatigable.
Today Starmer, in a panic from rumours of the expanding Ukrainian war, has tried to walk back Brexit with a trade agreement with the Republic. They have nothing to offer us but our country back. And we'll take that and more besides. There will be no more British boots on Irish soil this time, occupied as they are with incoming Russians and yanks, and the huns are totally fucked. Sinn Fein will rule the roost, North and South.
We've gotten the fuckers in the long grass and will declare neutrality while the world burns around us. It's a bloody good day to be Irish and I was sure I'd never see it within my lifetime. Feels like a dream. And I'd stake a significant amount of dough on it. Roll up and take my money if youse dare.

In all seriousness, what did Americans think would happen when they put a cartoonishly corrupt buffoon, now old beyond the point of even pretending to give a fuck, back into office? And this isn't even taking into account the South African neo-Nazi megalomanic drug addict sperm donor.

My mistake. Apparently using starlink sends coordinates of Ukrainian soldiers to Russians

Ontario cancelled it's 100 million dollar Starlink contract for security reasons.

If the US tries to invade Canada, we are quite prepared to fight you to the last French person. Also, willing to lose a good number of Jews.

Not gonna lie. Losing access to all that sweet American fentanyl is gonna hurt, man.
-
Re: Last one to post wins the internets
But you get to keep those massive amounts of Chinese fentanyl that are not heading south to the USA anymore, so you should come out ahead.

With your increasing age and the number of miles kilometers you have cycling, I imagine you probably just get up in the morning and apply fentanyl patches to each knee and one directly on your taint.

Honestly, not too bad currently. Bunkering in for pending doom but that beats the heck out of impending doom.
How have you been? Your last stop-in was a single post. I can't be the only one curious how your life has changed since you were a regular here.
I've been fine... I guess there is not much else to say...

Re: Last one to post wins the internets
Anyone else feel that the John Wick franchise/universe should quit while it's still good. I mean, I'll give Ballerina a shot because Ana d' Aramis is very watchable (even talented). But as good as Donnie Yen has been in other things, I don't think we need a Blind Fury remake. His character just doesn't seem like he could carry a full movie as the lead.
John Wick 5 has been announced by a producer. No official word on Keanu or Stahinski returning.
Further growth of The Continental and other gypsy crap doesn't really appeal to me *unless* it was episodic with different assassins coming in for/between missions.
Mostly saying that it would be nice if franchises knew when to call it quits.

Isn't it kinda weird nzb's are still a thing? Seems a bit like still using emule/kaaza. "I only need to find 3 more pieces then I can watch my movie."

Hollywood will run any film series into the ground as just long as it continues to make money. I think the John Wick universe simply doesn't work without Keanu Reeves. I'm sure though that somewhere in the future some producer will reboot it with someone, likely Robert Pattinson :eyebrows:, playing John Wick.
-
Re: Last one to post wins the internets
Now that he's no longer all shiny and dating girls a hundred years younger than him, I mostly like Robert Pattinson. I do get your point, though.
Done correctly, there's always a place for the highly skilled assassin-- one seeking redemption, finding purpose, out for revenge, protecting someone (innocent), or Jason Bourne. But these tasks all have a limited number of times that they remain properly interesting as a character/storyline.
I think the uphill battle for Ballerina will be finding any reason to care about a gypsy. Ana De Armas is always likable so we'll see. Also, which of those plot outlines i just mentioned fit the situation. I'm curious if the universe that she's in with Wick will be necessary, or will they be using already known and now far less interesting people and places as backdrop.
Breaking Bad knew when to quit. We didn't need to 'explore' additional methods dealers going out on their own.

If you were making hundreds of millions of dollars from each movie and demand for sequels stayed constant, would you stop?
Same goes for gacha games, especially those based on existing works. In all likelihood many of those devs don't like the "system", but successful ones are money printing machines, so it's hop on the train or be left behind.
In both cases it's audiences that would have to call it quits - with their wallets!

We did get El Camino and Gotta Call Saul, but those tried to do something different, so overall I agree. Ditto with Mr. Robot.

Nowadays every part of the process is automatable. A new TV episode or movie can be downloaded in your favorite quality, repaired, unpacked and be ready for watching before you even know it's out.
No splitting files to make them fit in 1.44 MB floppies, no having to pay $250 phone bills... filling your disks with stuff you may possibly watch 10 years from now has never been easier :)
