The bottom line is that your average American has no particular interest in the rest of the world.
I am given to understand that CNN World News for example often has 1 or 2 short reports about non-US issues. That being during a 1 hour programme. Apparently the other networks are much of a muchness.

That's right. I think American movies are better. I think Hollywood is the market leader for overall choices and quality of movies. That speaks nothing of foreigners in general that's for sure. ;) I think Japanese video games are the best. American and European maker's are gaining ground but are still behind.

A separation of water has alot to do with that as well as our own huge area as big as Europe.
I can't say about the 1 or 2 short reports though. It seems much more than that.
