We've taken the kids (now 14yo) to a few movies. It has turned out nice each time. Most recent one was Five Nights at Freddy's. Totally worth it to give my son a lifetime of being terrified of animatronic dolls.

Okay, not giving away any spoilers here... but how many folks out there are watching "Sugar" and recently watched episode 6?
I'm not going to say what may be foremost on everyone's minds right now that have watched it from the beginning, but isn't it nice to figure shite out, without really truly knowing? ;)
It's on my list, and I was about to start it, but it got preempted by season 3 of Clarkson's Farm... :)
Thanks! I watched the first 4 episodes of "Clarkson's Farm"... looks another big season on the farm! One of my favorite shows! :)
I also watched the first two episodes of "The Veil" recently... as for most miniseries thrillers... So far so good! :)
You may remember Elisabeth Moss (The staring role again.) from Margaret Atwood's TV adaptation of her novel "The Handmaid's Tale". She shined in that and may shine even brighter in "The Veil" IMHO. You may want to check it out.
After watching a few episodes of "Outer Range" season 2... I'm going to binge the rest tomorrow! Can't wait!!! Good Stuff! :)
Finally got around to watch "Fallout".
Liked it.
Watched "Fall Guy" this weekend. Not sure what to think about it. It wasn't bad, but I guess I expected... more? Whatever that "more" might be.
Having Lee Majors do a cameo at the end was a nice touch. Shocked about Heather Thomas, though -- time (and/or her plastic surgeon) has not been kind to her.
Also hated that they wrote new lyrics to the theme song.

It was a very sexist show and that's what every eleven year old boy liked about it. Certainly wasn't the acting or the plot or that Howie guy.
Funny, it also left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. I went for a full three day weekend with "Civil War" on Saturday, "Atlas" on Sunday and "The Fall Guy" on Monday. I'm sticking to remembrance and BBQ next Memorial Day Weekend. :(
Factoid: Kirsten Dunst husband Jesse Plemons was an un-credited actor in "Civil War" giving his brief part... you probably can guess why. Creepy stuff huh.
We ended up enjoying Fall Guy. The plot was thin, but really the entire show was made to work in a number of stunts and feel campy.
It's been a bit dry lately big and small screens as of late, though "The Acolyte" and "Sweet Tooth" may look promising from a sugary, Disney / Star Wars, apocalyptic, mutant point of view.
That being said, I have a few back-up title full seasons available... (You mentioned one.) ...and they might be the ticket if it ever rains here again, as the heat has been quite oppressive lately and my A/C is crap.
No doubt the 3rd season of OR will be good too! (Only a years wait.) {sigh}
Monkey Man
Basically an Indian John Wick without the witty comments.
Furiosa
Well... I do not feel compelled to watch the Black & Chrome edition.
Agreed! Waiting for the big screen to be over this summers doldrums, but just finished a few series on the small screen... standouts where "Mayor Of Kingstown" which is always decent, but predictable. "Dark Matter" that was interesting and mostly followed the novel. "Presumed Innocent" if you didn't read the novel or see the movie years past was a decent diversion.
Lately though, I'm just checking out my audiobook forum... (You know I don't read) ...which led me to "Lady In The Lake" a decent mystery thriller based in the '60s and of a novel of the same name. (Great period visuals I might add.)
Just cleaning up drives however of the usual film trash... I found "The Abandon (2024)" interesting, but I like that kind of stuff. ;)
Mayor of Kingstown is a guilty pleasure. Not quite sure I liked the end, but maybe it wasn't the end? Is there another season announced?
Also catching up with "Vikings Valhalla" at the moment. After watching season 3 I realized I never watched the first two, so I started over... Good thing season 3 is a kind of a stand-alone storyline.
Besides Taylor Sheridan's pension to make money with a stream of hits... I would probably guess yes. :yup:
Funny you should mention "Vikings Valhalla"... I started watching a few episodes of season 1, then shelved it when my youngest moved in... (44 and a long story.) ...so I put all the seasons together on a portable SSD and will binge watch them all at a suitable time in the near future. Thanks for the tip on the 3rd season being stand-alone. ;)
Watched "Despicable Me 4" this afternoon... okay for youngsters I suppose.
Hanging out with "Bad Monkey" based on the novel of the same name... good for a few laughs...
Any advices of recent shows for someone who watched a lot of times The Office US? :p
Catching up with "Hotel Cocaine". I give it my seal of approval, and not just because I like these period pieces. Good story, decent acting, some eye candy along the way.
I'm witcha on that. ;)
Just finished up a binge of "Sunny" a day or so ago... an entertaining time spent. :)
Note, I use subs, and if you don't well... think of all the others that you have too. :(
Speaking of period pieces, "Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist" is a good time waster... Halfway through the season I got pretty much sucked into the story...
Two thumbs up.
"The Old Man"...looks just as good a the first season! :)
"Those about to die"
I found the 1st episode boring, but ep 2&3 got me hooked. It looks promising.
The only thing that is disappointing is the bad computer-generated imagery that prevents a good immersion.
Yes, "The Wild Robot" gave me the warm fuzzy vibe too! :)
I've been sampling some of "Teacup" as of late... nothing like the book Stinger by Robert McCammon ...but that may be a good thing. I do enjoy many of his works, but I'll just enjoy the TV story as it plays out.
There always is "From" season three to keep me confused and entertained. ;)
Excited for Season 2 of Severance. Season 1 was really good.
"Earth Abides"...so far so good! :)
A few bits and pieces of Google lore amongst others.... "Earth Abides" is, remarkably, the first on-screen adaptation of George R. Stewart's seminal 1949 novel. Charting the sudden collapse of civilization, it's inspired numerous works, including Stephen King's "The Stand", Jimi Hendrix's "Third Stone from the Sun", and the BBC's "Threads". Some I knew, but questioned others, but if you give it a bit of a view... you'll probably see a few casual similarities. It' been way too long ago forsince my reading. It is a weekly show. 'nuff said. ;)
Btw... it was good to see "Bjorn" (Alexander Ludwig) in the starring role.
Now that Tulsa King is over I have switched to Landman.
A bit over the top, but since I used to work in the industry and have been to Midland/Odessa I have to say it's actually not that badly made.
I'm waiting on a few episodes for a good binge... I do remember however a pooch named "Lucky" that ish saved on the road and became his best friend... perhaps what you mentioned is in future episodes.
If that relates to future episodes I haven't seen yet... just consider me sorry for that my friend and you have my apologize in advance :(
No Good Deed: Season 1
Okay, okay... we definitely were not watching the same show.
I binged the rest of it. The only dog that passed was most likely of old age. (Think there will be s season two? Read the book.)
You were however right about "Landman"... another Taylor Sheridan money maker... yes, I'm all in for that one's second season! ;)
Okay, what might you think of "Severance"? A long awaited season two is coming soon.
Nah, the dog got hit by a falling tree branch for no reason whatsoever. I mean, it would have been a more compelling story to watch if that dog had been Greg Abbott, so it feels like a double-downer. I also would have enjoyed watching Greg Abbott getting eaten by rats, but obviously you cannot have everything in life.
Ah, I am being facetious. Honestly, the show had its moments, but overall it's not something I have to watch again. Can someone explain to me how decades after the virus wipes out humanity, the survivors still have working electricity and running water? If your idea of survival is relying on infrastructure that is not maintained yet magically continues working, you might as well take the way out like those people in Vegas...
Tried watching Megalopolis the other day. Could not finish it, even when I tried to convince myself that the sunk cost fallacy is not real and I had already invested two hours of my life into that abomination.
Wicked was good, though. Liked it more than I expected. Of course it helped that they served alcohol at the theater.
Also, both Red One and Dear Santa were a good time waste while waiting for my lump of coal to arrive.
