It has much changed since 2003. Afterdawn has gone down, essentially, stripped of its valuable software.

That's why I've come back here. That's what's on my mind. I want to know how safe we are, what's going on, who's aware, who's got protection and advice for us.

I hope to find answers in these forums.

I think you're worrying too much, mate.

There is a program called peerguardian (most likely you're aware of this) that you can use if you're worried. I don't use it and haven't had any trouble in years of downloading movies and music.

I think the downloading of older movies (ie the ones not in the cinema nor the newer release dvd rentals) is practically tolerated and expected, newer releases tend to garner more attention from the authorities.

I'll carry on downloading them from private trackers and newsgroups but if you avoid them, I'm almost certain that you'll be fine :)
