Food, Inc. - 9/10....i love documentaries, and this is one of the better ones I've seen in a good while...an engaging, compelling, and fascinating look at the Food industry. Highly Recommended.

Ginger Snaps (2000). Emily Perkins, Katharine Isabelle.
A glorious take on the "teen werewolf" genre, Ginger Snaps mixes teenage alienation, menstruation and humor into the best horror film I've seen in a long while.
The title's pretty damn clever, too.

there's 2 sequels that followed, but not nearly as good as the 1st.

Yeah, I was aware of those but avoided them.
For the most part, I consider sequels and prequels to be intellectual laziness by both the creators and the audience.
OK, fine, you came up with a good idea and executed it well...now fucking go out and develop another one.
Sequels are easy for the viewer because he already knows the character(s) and the basic framework and thus, doesn't have to start from scratch and figure out what's happening.
People who perform regular jobs get rewarded for mastering a basic skill set and then perfecting it...artists should not.
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
Paranormal Activity, and I thought it was way overhyped. If you saw the first 20 minutes you've basically seen the whole movie imo. Not really any plot twists or explanations :/
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
Jennifer's Body. A bit porno and lame, but had its moments
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
The Machinist 8/10
It's one of those movies that mess with your head so if you enjoy these kinds of films, this is a must watch. It's a mystery/thriller type movie and I love these kinds of movies.

Julie & Julia- Meryl Streep, Amy Adams.
A young New Yorker (Adams) vows to cook her way through Julia Child's (Streep) Mastering the Art of French Cooking, 500+ recipes in one year.
This movie strongly reminded me of two other films...it had the totally sweet aura of Waitress and the masterful depiction of an iconic person shown in The Queen.
It's Streep's movie and she manages to portray Child as a real person instead of the caricature she could easily be...not an easy task.
Maybe the best term for this movie is charming...I liked it.
