I have aol installed, it says there is a modem built into it, but when i plg it into the phone line....nothing happens. Argggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have BT Answer 1571 on your phone line, or anything else that changes the dial tone? If so then that's what's causing your modem to fail to connect.Quote:

Also try disabling "caller waiting" services if they're active.
