May as well paste what I wrote in the locked thread here :P This will probably confuse as it goes to danb's thread in about this forum.

First of all, I did read the thread(or merged threads). Didn't count the people as it sort of ran on. Seemed like the same group of people to me.

Personaly I don't care if he is banned or not. I have nothing against him. But whenever the mods/admin decide to ban someone everyone seems to get all up in arms about it. It is the admins forum, and if they are tired of dealing with it, then it is their decision.

danb said he was well respected on the first page. It is great he has all this support, but it seems in this last month I have read several threads complaining about things he has done and gotten away with.

Should he get away with it just because he has the support of people here regaurdless of what needs to be done to contain him? I read someone suggesting he should be followed by a mod when he is in these moods. This is rediculous. If this place is that important to him, he ought to control himself when drinking.

I also read that maybe he ought to be suspended for a period of time(I think a few weeks) to get it together and have another go. Not a bad idea, but if that doesn't work a ban should definately be in order.

We did consider things like a 'cool down period' as an alternative. So he can work out his personal problems.

Correct. If he is totally sober in a couple months time, then I don't mind him coming back here with a new account. I think most mods will agree with this too.

no, he made at least 2, Sam4 which I suspended, and okstfupbitch which was suspended by another mod.

Something like a lengthy suspension would have worked best. A month or even more.

But did that account post or was he using it to view the board?

Seems rather sucky that this is what your whole reasons for banning someone relies on.

edit: btw, whichever mod deleted my post the other day in the cameron diaz thread, thanks for not telling me when or why you deleted it, fucking jerk.

Technically, creating the account itself is already considered a circumvention.

But that's certainly not the reason why his account was banned. So not really of great importance.

I say let him stay in banned hell.

He made more than one account that had to be suspended.

He's a grown-ass man which is sometimes a drunk grown-ass man which doesn't need his ass kissed when drunk.

He's already banned let him stay that way.

He can always come back as Fletch or something through a proxy.

Many folks are arguing over semantics.
He'll be back.........even if he isn't already back.
