leon - had the dvd for ages but never got around to watching it until now. Turns out it is pretty decent. I've never wanted someone to open a door so much lol
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang- Robert Downey, Jr., Val Kilmer, Michelle Monaghan.
A noir-ish thriller/comedy that's completely self-aware and breaks the wall between viewer and actors from the very beginning.
I'll watch anything with RDJ in it and was pleasantly surprised by Kilmer and Monaghan as well.
In strict adherence to noir convention, the plot is convoluted and murky but it doesn't matter as the dialogue is snappy and tart, loaded with non sequiturs.
Monaghan is easy on the eyes, Downey and Kilmer are frankly hilarious.
A fun way to kill some time.
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) on TV.
I laughed out loud. They make a great duo, imo. The whole movie was good throughout, but the ending was surprising and great at the same time (not to mention hillarious, especially Steve Martin's line, lol).
A must watch for comedy fans, imo.

Paranormal activity
Definitely the most scary move I have ever seen

It's like racing around go-cart track ; it's a little silly , you never really get anywhere and the finish is a bit disappointing but at least you enjoyed the ride.

.
( Relatively) early Steve Martin ,nothing matches up to his stand-up or apperances on SNL but he used to make some damn funny movies.Check out the Jerk if you haven't already seen it.
As chalice quoted elsewhere " Pointy birds so pointy, pointy"(OK that's The man with Two Brains but The Jerk is better " I was raised a poor black child").
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
Dread (2009) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1331307/
The IMDB rating has gone down quite a bit from last week, but I would give it a 7.5 . It's a horror movie with likable characters that keeps building until the end. I kinda liked that it starts slow and still was able to hold my attention.
Give it a watch if this kind of movie appeals to you.
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
Yeah, I've heard of the Jerk. Even watched a couple of mins once. Will give it a go (eventually).
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
No, give The Jerk a shot asap, Martin. Seriously classic movie.
As Idol said, great quotes. Right up there with Blazing Saddles for quot-ability.

One of my favourites. The opening scene with the children pretending to be magicians is wonderfully shot, and the convention breaking narration is also something I enjoyed.
Last I watched was No Country For Old Men. I think the attempts to tie it up at the end were a little futile, perhaps they should have cut the last 20 or so minutes. Cinematography was quite beautiful and I heard they based the character of Anton Chigurh's hairstyle on a patron of an 18th or 19th century brothel that they found.
