For current shows there are tons of NZB files posted here. If you want a BitMeTV invite you will have to get to know a user there. Since users are responsible for those that they invite, they are careful with their invites.
If you want a public torrent site, eztvefnet.org isn't too bad.
Every torrent private site has tv shows, but you have to go and get them the same day they come out or the next, after a while they are gone

sorry can't help with an invite. I have a shared internet connection with my roommates now and it's extremely hard to keep my ratio high enough.
Son of Shun is great for liberal politics stuff (daily show and colbert are available!) science stuff (nova and the like) and other purportedly-edifying infotainment.
