i remember from my happy childhood, during a moment in the Inland Revenue office watching my mother reak drunken havoc to the guy hiding behind bulletproof glass.
Something along the lines of
"Look, what is up your arse, you supercillious little shite".
I thought it was one hell of an instant retort from my mum. Supercillious, although not really offensive sounds great:
A: It's a long word.
B: Its sounds like silly.
C: Super = great/large
D: ended in ous - like tremendous.
E: Not many people know what supercillious means. Thats the insulting bit, the unsureness of what has just been said.
To me, one word said a lot.
