Why can't I change the word "noob" under my username to anything I want?

You know, Hitler has got me thinking. I wish I could change me user name occasionally or at least put a space between Arch and Stanton. Can that be arranged?

I also wish the system did not double merge posts or give the date that I edited a post, I like my mistakes to remain hidden.
