about 3 years, first DJ GT made some of his mixes available via torrent and was advertising that option, so I tried to figure out the whole thing, then mininova, and TT as my first closed tracker, was open for signups then :)

Started with PWT
i think it had to be around 2002 when i was first introduced to BT. my brother (a jam band fan) had heard that people were tape-sharing and such through this bit torrent and since he didn't know much about computers i was enlisted to figure it out for him. it wasn't until i got invited to oink a little over a year ago that i realized the speeds bittorrent took over almost all of my file sharing from dc++/soulseek

I guess I started on demonoid but I wouldn't really call it a private tracker. After demonoid close I was out of the loop until a few days ago when I signed up at torrentbyte and bitsoup through open signups
