I never modded mine (yes, I actually paid for games). My PSP 2000 is, however, softmodded, you could say, with custom firmware.

Solderless. Don't really use it now, so I'm thinking about selling it and getting a PC emulator

The PC emulator is nothing like the real thing. You will need a quad core PC with a high end video card and I still wouldn't expect a solid frame rate compared to playing on the console.

DMS3 last firmware modchip 2.4b7 Fat v4 ps2.

Now I've set it up so that I use HDLoader and put games on the hard drive then plug it in the ps2.

I've killed my laser once, so I did it to future proof it.

I also use HDloader + hdd. I download the games though and hook the ps2 hdd up to my external usb enclosure and copy the games onto the drive using winhiip.

Both my slim and my phat have modchips
ps2 rules so much
