Re: Kimisurfs - New 2008 Range
I clicked order on the £14.99 kimsufi but got the reloaded one (1gb ram, 250gb HD). Price seems to be £19.99 in the UK.

Front page hasn't been amended yet, but when you try to order, all the order options are the same as the French one now, 5 kimisurfs to choose from (use the dropdown menu to choose).

How many kimisurfs are used as torrent/ftp boxes? Im starting to think more than half.
Re: Kimisurfs - New 2008 Range
I can't figure out why people are so excited about the 1GB RAM upgrade. When it comes to general torrenting, you can easily max out a 100mbit line using a Linux machine with 256MB RAM. The only time you're likely to see a difference in torrenting is when you try to create a new torrent, in which case it becomes a little bit harder to maintain a very high speed (>5MBPS upload/download), but that only takes a few minutes a day if at all.
The only major upgrade is in the HD space imho.
Re: Kimisurfs - New 2008 Range

Well i am using kimsufi with 256gb ram. And when i download a torrent, i mostly get disk overload as soon as download speed reaches around 3-4 MB which eventually slows down the upload speed. Pardon me if disk overload has nothing to do with ram.

actually it has the same bandwidth (100/100) :P. but by all means, this is probably a very good seedbox :D.

OVH servers soon going to become oversold and might suffer fate like FDC. I hope i prove wrong as OVH provides most economical servers and most of us can afford it.
Re: Kimisurfs - New 2008 Range
UK OVH have updated their range:
http://www.ovh.co.uk/products/dedicated_list.xml
Much cheaper to buy from France if you can.
Check out their Kimisurfs though, rumour has it the XXl will be:
