I really don't like the speeds on the older stuffs, they're really poor.
It keeps a small userbase for a few reasons:
1. Smaller userbase means its more secure (why would anti-counterfits bother when so few users are on it.
2. Initial seed can satisfy all peers. If they had 100k users, ratiofree would no longer work, as people would H&R, but a close knit community + small userbase works great :)
Basically as good as FTN :)
