If it's true you got three options:
1. Reinstall.
2. register (unless your version is pirated) edit: this is out of the question then.
3. Or find a crack/serial replacer thingie fast.
You should have gotten one of those XP:s that doesn't require registration to work beyond 14 days, you need a school version or the "executive version".
I can't help you though, I'm not using XP.
Edit: win 2k- good choice, you'd still need a similar version in that case though, or a serial-crack I think, I would not use the stuff myself.
Ask for help quickly in software-world.

Next time get a corporate version of Win2k pro, that's much better.
I'd say Balamm's solution was the best for your problem otherwise.
