Re: looking for a good usenet server
Holy s... it works , finally . I've found a ipv6 server on my country i'm getting max speed with xsnews .
Does anyone else getting some weird speed results on binload ?
It goes up instantly at 2.66 mb/s which i never managed to get that high speed , and then goes down to 100 kb/s . I think the speed display is wrong
Re: looking for a good usenet server
It should be some display problem, using only binload, my connection is always maxed out at 3.6MB/s.
Remember, you can use 10 connections simultaneously.
Re: looking for a good usenet server
Yes i know that , ive tried to raise it to 20 connections to improve my speed and i did actually raise a lot
Does anyone know what is the retention , speed , and connections used for xsnews ?

Speed: It maxes my 3,5 MB connection all the time
Retention: 400 to 500 days
Connections: 8
These are the ipv6-server adresses in case reader.ipv6.xsnews.nl doesn't work:

2001:67c:174:101::3

Re: looking for a good usenet server
ive been using newsdemon for awhile now and have liked it - they have a current deal for 3 months for 21.00 that seems to be the cheapest around here:

and any info regarding speed and retention ?
Re: looking for a good usenet server
It's been down for a very long time.
Re: looking for a good usenet server
thanks. its actually working out pretty good.
Re: looking for a good usenet server
binload works perfect so far , even better than the ipv6 trick . I hope they don't force payments anytime soon

This is a bit iffy though as I couldn't finish something that was 496 days old. So I would watch it once you get past the 400 day mark.
