edit: DLL vuln has been patched by MS so older versions are ok
There was a Windows hotfix released for the DLL vulnerability ages ago, and I'm assuming it was officially added to a patch down the road once its effect was measured. That shouldn't be the reason for your version choice.
As I told megabyteme on that news thread, you might want to check Halite out. It has all the "essential" features and a small footprint. The great client no one uses. :PQuote:
