i switched from vlc to splash pro.. vlc doesnt player some movies

When it comes to audio use Foobar2000.

KMPlayer is enought ! it has all u need

I'll fifth vlc, latest. I haven't run across anything it won't handle.

Daum Poplayer is a nice tool for playing HD video

Also VLC media player is a good choice
