GIMP for complex image editing.
ImageMagick for quick n' dirty batch jobs ( resize the 10,000 pics uploaded by a client to put them on his website, but without overdoing it because he's a cheap bastard... kind of jobs)
I use IrfanView (which has command line support) for this, but ImageMagick has the advantages of being a pure terminal program, free software and multi-platform. Make sure to also have pngcrush and jhead in your arsenal... oh, and there's a batch mode in waifu2x :turned:

Anyone tried Gigapixel Pro? I'm way below the minimum requirements, but I'd at least like to know if the results are as amazing as claimed.
I do prefer GIMP.
