As for upgrading, on a forum of this size, I would think waiting for at least a Beta version would be prudent. We all know what kind of havoc downtime creates around here. :)

Yeah i agree, we shouldn't this is the best version. We don't know how crappy the next release will be.
It doesn't matter if it's a good idea to try an alpha release, it's not even public yet.
vb3 RC1 has just been released today, and has many more features than invision but each to there own :)
Matter of preference... I would not change my invision board.
