how about a vapochill case
the vapochill cases are nnniiiccceee but i think you should wait until btx, pci expres and all that stuff is released like bigdawgfoxx said, otherwise you will regret it later on.
When btx and pci express arrive there will be something else on the horizon. I rather think the guy wants a pc NOW.
hmmm btx , well i might just not wait for that with expected bugs and all lol
but here is what i think i will be getting so far
Gigabyte GA-K8NNXP-940
nForce3 150 chipset
AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-51 Processor
corsair XMS2 4300 twin matched pair x2
WD Raptor enterprise 74 gig 10,000 rpm h/d's x 2
any comments one this stuff or posible better stuff plz feel free, the time frame for this project to be up and running is like 6 weeks
if anyone can suggest an intel equilivent i would be interested
yea, hell, just wait 20 or so years and you can get a wicked fast computer (by todays standards) i just bought an ASUS P4C800-E deluxe with a P4 3.0ghz with only ONE 512 stick (i hope to get another in a few weeks). and i think this setup should last me for a couple years (at least 2)
there isnt an intel equivalent becuase thay have not yet released a 64bit chip for desktops. but if u want close performace you would have to get the best intel chip which is the 3.2ghz pentium 4 ee (extreme edition)Quote:

ok the vapochill case is just a little steep at $1,100 aus , and i dont think i will ever try to overclock 60% lol so how about some suggestion on a case a little less extreem, but still with good overall cooling
the antec 550w power supply looks like the way to go too
oh and by the way thanks for everyones input so far, who said forums are just full of wingers, and spammers  :P  :P
The Nforce3 150 chipset running with PC3200 memory almost exactly matches the performance of the Intel 875 chipset running with PC4000 memory. A little bit of tweaking to use higher FSB and lower multipliers and AMD will could blow Intel off the road.
i like chieftec cases, the dragon series ones are nice. and they arent very expensive either.
