Yeh knew that, we thought of the name but americans have continued calling it that in America. I think soccer comes from assoc.Quote:

@leonarmston: It's called 'soccer' as well because we (the brits) abbreviated Association Football to get 'soccer', don't ask me how that works but it just is.
As for Squash how could any other sport get a better venue than this. This is what makes me train hard everyday in the hope I will one day play here!

Kidding aside, the World's sport is Association Football.
It isn't even open to question. It is a fact.

Basketball
1. Plenty of scoring
2. Almost every shot is a highlight.
3. The last Laker/Sacremento game :D , pure excitement.
4. I like playing the sport.
basketball great game
edit, it also takes some effort to score unlike football. anyone can kick a ball into the back of a net...

Keep in mind that's what makes soccer the most popular sport in the world.
Anyone can pick up on it. I used to play with the Spanish guys in Silver Spring, MD around my ex-girlfriends house about once a week. I always had bruised legs.
Fun to play, hell to watch. Much like baseball.
btw in Britain is rounders a girl's game. A couple guys from England at work told me so.
Yep, <s>baseball</s> rounders is a girls game :)Quote:

We were playing rounders/baseball at a kind of camp we went to with the school when I was younger, a place called Kingswood. I remember having a swing with the aluminium baseball bat, it was pretty light but I could hit a tennis ball pretty far with it (on the odd occasion when I actually hit the ball, that is)
