Read the damn websites FAQ. :rtfm: By cross-linking the sites images and making them reload a bunch of times they are draining the sites bandwidth. Basically a cheap version of a DOS attack.
And what if the admin/admins have bandwidth limits set...........mod_throttle anyone? ;)Quote:

Why you'd want to is beyond me...but I imagine that m$ and Google have a lot more bandwidth than some lowlife crooks. It would be kind of like trying to empty a swimming pool with a tea spoon. (Unless lots of people started doing it...)Quote:

how does it work? i mean how can you nuke them down?
and are they really fake sites?
can you nuke www.microsoft.com or googl.com?
@shn What do you mean by "mod_throttle"?
Ah - The Lad Vampire has carelessly left his source code open and put helpful explainations in it. So if someone wanted to do this to anti-p2p companies, the websites would be...
Overpeer
Loudeye
Nabster
Piracy Is A Crime
Federation Against Copyright Theft
Out of pure curiosity, can anyone think of anymore...?
A mod throttle is a piece of software that is designed to reduce the load on your server and reduce bandwidth consumed by recurrent users (and other stuff) by 'throttling' the connection.
I suppose Shn was telling us what the scammers could do to protect their site.
Yes, I googled to find that out
I think that script can get around that - could someone check the source code?

There ya go :)
Yeah, I know how to get to it - Could someone check it to see if it can get around bandwidth throttling. I can't tell.
