City of God

I watched City of god and I really liked it.
What is connection between City of man series and movie?

Is movie shorted version of the series?

I liked it and didn't mind the subtitles. They're much better than dubs

City of Men was a more honest, maybe a more realistic story than the first one.
More a short story within "City of God".
