I'm very lucky i got it only $29.99 because it was 79.99 and it had 20 dollar rebate and 40 dollar mail in rebate i lucked out and also received a very good cdrw.

You don't need a high-end PC, but a fast hard drive and plenty of ram would help. I have a Memorex 52x24x52, with a 550MHz PIII, a 7200rpm hard drive and 384MB of ram. When I burn with Nero, I usually check the box that says "Determine Maximum Speed", which tests your read speed and automatically adjusts your burn speed to match. Most times it burns at 52x, but sometimes it lowers the speed to 48x. No flying saucers yet!
