The big O is the throbber. It shows when a page is loading, so its quite useful.

Personally, I prefer to remove the Go button from the address bar, and use the Enter key instead.
Go is the most pointless button ever, imho.

@ Samurai: I see you went for the Orbit Yellow theme. You're showing remarkably good taste there. ;)

but the throbber is useless. just look in the status bar. :ermm:
