the first `forum' i joined was on FIDO, you subscribed to a feed, downloaded your messages via QWK and read and replied offline, then uploaded replies later.

i think the first internet forum i joined was the winamp forum, where i still am an active member.

Yup, first forum, and even to this date the only one. Got to know about it through the little "link/ad" in klite, had to ask about a bin+cue question (i know i know, but we were all n00bs at some point).

the bbc cult boards will be closing at the end of february and the majority of their members are joining my cult forum which i started about 6 or 7 months ago, there's a lot of delicious ironing in that wouldn't you say? :ermm:
